Look at how Usyk handles AJ and Fury. You need good footwork and good timing. You have to be able to cut off the ring. Inoue is another good fighter to watch. He attacks the body constantly and chop them down. In on many occasions, the shorter fighter have to come forward and apply pressure. It's almost mandatory that the shorter fighter have to come forward and be somewhat aggressive.
Tyson was better than Tua even though they both lost to Lewis, a prime Tyson was a master at getting inside and long jab.
Not if the shorter opponent has better timing, skills or footwork. Reach is only an advantage if the fighter can engineer the fight to benefit his reach and implement the strategy. For example, on this basic level of thinking, longer reach would be a disadvantage in mid/close range. which high level fighter, with a longer reach landed their shots for a full fight and stayed a safe distance (don’t even need to block or parry). Nobody landing on them. there is such a low level of conversation here. This is stuff you find out to be false in your first week at a gym. I’ll prove another way it’s completely false, go to a gym and spar with someone is similar weight but shorter, who has more skill than you, see if you can keep a safe distance and have him not land. skills, timing etc all beat reach. funny this is soon after usyk beat several guys with longer reach, using skills timing etc lol
