indeed, ward trows something out so he can move in and smuther puches, bute is very good at timing this type of attack, and has great power at short distance, the maine thing he needs to change when or if he ever gets the chance to face ward is to start early and not give ward the time to feel comfertable. but i think he has better chance at victory than a mear 30 %, we need to ask ourselfd why he changed his mind in facincing bute after the s6, he must now something that worries him.

 

I think he and Hunter wants to see how Bute does against a good opponent, before they sit down and construct a gameplan. Not cowardice, just beeing tactical.

 

Everyone here praises Ward for his ability to adjust. Well, that's what he'd do against Bute. He will adjust. In this case, ad******g means staying the f@ck away from "the inside". It means bringing a bicycle and making sure the gears are well oiled.
Very few guys get close to Bute, let alone inside and they pay a heavy price to get there. Ward doesn't have the endurance or punch-resistance of those guys and he also doesn't need to take these kinds of "risks", since he has other options in his "arsenal".
It's not like Andrade could outbox Bute with the jab. He had to come in. Ward will pot-shot from the outside and attempt to minimize risks. Will that get him the Win? It might. So why would he try to do more?

Bute has more snap in his punches, moving away would simply provide Lucien the range to get the power in his punches. Really do think that AW will smother him, get close and limit the Romanian. Ward negates his opponents offence, then worries about his own.

 

For starters, I believe it will take someone with great hand speed to give Andre problems. They will need more, but that is first and foremost.

 

So you're saying Bute clearly outboxes Ward from the outside?
Because the way I see it, if Ward feels he can win from the outside, he won't take risks to do any more than that.

I been trying to tell folks for a few years now that Ward subtracts his oppoents game.. they become statues during the fight..


Agrreed that Jones Jr and Toney would be great fights.. Roy wins UD... Ward is Far to Dangerous to try and KO..
Calzaghe had fast hands but I think a healthy Ward stops him based on inside work, taking away the midrange game and the fact that Joe would probabably over agressive trying to get his offence off..

The Toney Fight would be the best.. a strait Counter fest.. I would Love to see this match up..

its not as clean cut as the way you say, look at how close bute is to the opponent when he takes them down...very ****ing close, bute is smart and slick as well, this fight can go either way, but taking the punch power in to concideration, i favor bute to win:bbb
