Maybe this has been done before, but I haven't noticed it.

So, what do you have to do to beat tripple G? What would be the gameplan?

You can choose the Jacobs/Canelo route, stay away and only engage sporadically but then you get jabbed to death, loose ring territory and loose a decision ("draw" aside). If you engage mano a mano like for example Ouma did, you cause problems, but get beaten harder.

My opinion is Canelo did great in the first three rounds by being a boxer/puncher. He just outbombed Gennady. I felt like GGG can't match his speed in close quarters. But then Canelo totally gassed. Maybe it was his engine or was it the mental and physical pressure Golovkin put on him (or most likely both). But fighting like Canelo did in the first 3 for 12 rounds should do it, I believe.

Now, let's not get into that "ggg got robbed", "canelo won", "jacobs did better" stuff, my question is of pure tactical/technical nature ... How do you beat Gennady Golovkin?

Wait for him to get old, like the 160lb division has done for near on a decade !

Canelo can tell you how not to get stopped by GGG, simply wait until he gets old , or you can duck him even longer like british clown BJS did and then your chances to beat him gets higher and higher.

You’ve basically answered your own question.
Canelo, Jacobs and Brook (to some extent) have shown everyone how to do it. Problem is actually doing it for full 12 rounds.
You move, slip, counter, and occasionaly get in your own offence in order to buy some time, steal close rounds and make Golovkin reset.

It takes someone with good stamina, reflexes and timing to be on a bike all night countering and 1-2x per round getting some shots in.

edit: add chin to the list of requirements. No matter how fast someones bike is, they will catch something and better be able to take that.

It depends on the boxer. I.e if a younger GGG-Esque gets in the ring with him, he can trade with him. He’d be fitter, faster, stronger, and have a great chin.

Duran was asked what he thinks of GGG

"Golovkin, you cannot square up with him [Duran got up and showed a few moves on how he would approach GGG]. You must give him angles, as he will come right at you, trying to kill you! You must make him go crazy [with movement and by spinning him, not letting him get set] and then you must box him.

He used to be excellent at cutting off the ring. You could be a good mover and you would struggle to keep distance with him

I'm a BJS fan, but its crystal clear he wanted no part until GGG slowed up some

That’s true. Which is where chin and reflexes come in to play, but even then he’s got no problem patiently jabbing and waiting/creating an opening.
His younger version was a complete package - he could box, brawl, take a punch and work at the same speed whole fight - only downside being his defence but it’s not like he really needed it.

Coming in with tanker loads of PEDs in the system didn't work
Coming in at Cruiserweight didn't work
Coming in with baseball bats as gloves didn't work

Only thing that beats GGG Golovkin is old age
