I agree with most of what you said, although I think Floyd carried Maidana (and I was rooting for Floyd, but at the same time hoping that Maidana would score the upset) so I wouldn't take his tactic.

Yes, In order to beat Floyd you need to load up on the body. Few people have done it and frankly that's surprising. This is point one with the shoulder roll... He can roll head shots, but he still has to block to avoid getting hit to the body, making him far more susceptible to incoming power body shots.

Point two is everyone that uses the shoulder roll (with the exception being Toney) is open for the overhand right. This should be a key punch after a flush power body shot. Easily the best head punch to throw against Floyd.

Two key things I notice.

One, Floyd loves to throw his left hook during/after an opponents jab, when he does he is wide open for a counter overhand right or right hook, DEEP.

Two, space between Mayweather and opponent. You all too often see the opponent is always the one on the hunt, this is a bad tactic and Mayweather will (most likely) always come out on top. However, when there is space and Floyd is made to be the aggressor he has a major flaw, namely his extended body jab. Of course, Floyd doesn't always throw that punch, but when he does it is easily readable and he leans far forward and to the right..... Just as Marquez waited for Pac's feint this could easily be an ace in the hole counter to have against Mayweather. A heavy uppercut in this situation would probably put him on his ass.

Two other things to note.

First is, you would have to be extremely lucky to land a flush shot while Floyd is rolling, so any tactic involving that wouldn't be smart.

Second is, Floyd is a round thief (meaning he uses the end of the round to win it), how you would stop this would depend on the fighter but this is something that must be addressed, because it is something that will take place.

I agree with you on all but one point which is the overhand right being the best shot to use on mayweather even though it's obvious that it should be I really believe the best punch to use is a wide but short and crisp left hook like miguel cotto was able to exploit, a lot of other fighter that went for the left didnt make it wide enought making it easy for floyd to roll of the shoulder upwards.

And I'm studying danny garcia right now who is a very incomplete fighter but very good at the same time making him tought to break down.
