Well if it feels more comfortable/natural do it, but if it's solely because of the power in your jab then it's probably not worth it

If you mean same power as your straight right in an orthodox stance, your straight right must not be very strong.

Are you following up that "can't miss" jab with a good shot? If they are "eating" your jab orthodox then why don't you just follow it up with something "tasty" like a straight right or uppercut? Are you over relying on the left jab?

Guessing you are wearing 16 oz gloves, if you are "dropping" people with right jabs? Are you dropping the same guys that were eating your left jabs? Are you following up your right jabs with anything?

Sounds to me you have "Fast Pure Boxer Syndrome". It happens when a guy is fast enough to hang (but not dominate) in sparring and be "safe" by ONLY throwing a jab. Eventually guys realize that your jab is dominant BUT you won't throw ANYTHING else because of a reluctance to engage. So they just walk through the jab because that is the only way to get to you. Maybe you just need to work on following up your left jab with heat?

And the description of the jab spells serious trouble for his Southpaw 1-2.

not the same guys-----i always wear 16 ounce gloves what you wrote is very accurate i have a above average defense and since my jab is very fast---i eventually came to the conclusion that i wanted to bring my jab to another level

so i started sparring using just my jab and to cut a long story short i got real good at it so im the only boxer in my gym that can spar using only his jab and stay safe--while the other can use ane of the other 6 punches because my natural talent leans towards the defensive side im able to do that----

but you are right eventually i did get fast pure boxer syndrome and i started overrelying on my jab so ima take your advice and start following it up with something----------since im juss learning southpaw i usually practice the basic textbook defense and use right jab and right hook and uppercut and fient the left straight

but eventually once i get the hipturning down pat in southpaw i would throw the right jab left straigt alot

because basically my thinking is since my left jab is fast in othordox then my left straight would be fast and powerfull because of mass times acceleration---like wat i mean is basically i think since my left jab in othordox is fast, that all that speed would translate to my southpaw left straight making it fast and actucally stronger then my rightstraight in orthadox once i have the southpaw tecnique down pat whats your opiionion bald_head_slick????????????????????

You don't "become" a southpaw - you are, or you aren't.

If you do continue on your quest to switch, you will most likely find that you will become front foot dominant, and you may have trouble seeing shots early enough.

As for your jab, use it for what it is there for - unless you are like a quartey or holmes, you shouldn't be looking to commit so much power into your jab. If you want to get your opponents respect, throw a straight right! Keep your opponent off balance by doubling up the jab etc!

The quality of your jab should not be based on how many people you drop in sparring with it, because it will severely limit you in other areas. Use your jab to 'manage' the fight, and let the rest of the punches do the real damage.

If you are still concerned that people will walk through it, commit to improving it, don't disregard everything you have done to accommodate a punch that you will struggle to land against someone who knows what their doing anyway.

Southpaws have a ridiculous advantage over orthodox fighters. LOL @ the fool who asked why? Clearly has never boxed before. Do you really want me to list the hundreds of advantages there are over the othro stance? Seriously?

I asked why because he has no good reason to change (I know your simple mind has trouble with comprehension) but please do explain the hundreds of advantages southpaws have over orthodox fighters.
