How to counter someone lunging in?

    step slightily to the side, 1 inch makese all the difference. counter with straight punches.

    or

    you can always step forward yourself, but if your natural reaction is to bounce back, dont ever go straight back, go to the side

    practice slipping, it's pretty obvious you're one of those guys who wont take those type of risks unless there's a sure fire way that you'll miss. Trust in your defence, practice your timing, if you get hit? no problem try it again and watch your improvement.

    i personally either slip to the left throw hooks to the body then overhand or a simple step to the left timing carefully and then throw a nice stiff jab. Honestly though when a guy lunges itll be easy to time it over time with experience.
