Of the guys currently fighting, could be Virgil Ortiz, Tszyu (English speaking, wants to fight in Vegas), David Benavidez

These things aren't exactly predictable but the track record of the last 100+ years is people saying "its finished, no new stars to come" & bang out of nowhere some guy will pick up the ball & run

I remember people said the same stuff when ODLH was about to retire, along came Pacquiao & Floyd. Then people said who next? Along came Canelo

I even remember that old debate between Joe Rogan & Dibella exactly 15 years ago where Rogan said:

"Your sport is getting swallowed. It's getting swallowed by a greater, more efficient, more spectacular sport. The famous people you have right now are the only famous people that are gonna exist in the future for boxing. The Oscar De La Hoya's, the Bernard Hopkins', the Jermain Taylor's, the guys that were already famous before UFC came along. There will be no new ones. They will all go to MMA."

Truth turned out to be the exact opposite: Both Connor McGregor & Ngannou had to come to Boxing to get their biggest paychecks even though McGregor has been the biggest star in MMA history by far. Other MMA guys like Kamaru Usman also tried to get that Canelo/Boxing stimulus check

I meant to write this yesterday after watching your video. One thing I wanted to bring up is that I kind of felt your perfect situation wasnt so different to what we have right now at Heavyweight, except you were describing the current landscape but with a twist in naming.

You suggest a belt above all other that recognizes the true #1 in the division. Well we kind of already have that - The Ring Belt
Usyk holds this and he is also recognized by the TBRB. You mention both rankings as somewhat of the gold standard in the video.

You also suggest an order of lessor champions, as follows WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO. Well we kind of already have that order challenging for the The Ring title:
WBA - Dubois was the WBA lesser belt holder
WBC - Fury is the WBC champion
IBF - Hrgovic as mandatory could just as well be called the interim, which doesn't change much
WBO - Zhang is already the interim champion (the lesser belt holder)

One issue I have with your suggestion is you don't seem to like the idea of belts being stripped. But The Ring isn't going to strip Usyk, the IBF is.

The other side of that coin is we are seeing the Hrgovic IBF challenge being pushed back again and again because the WBC challenger Fury can't get his **** together. So there would actually need to be a mechanism where the The Ring steps in and says sorry, Fury has to go back in line, and Hrgovic is next up.

But again, I'm not sure that is actually what you are wanting...

Yep. You're right. You can't have just one belt and all those boxers. They hardly fight. And look at guys like Fury and Charlo. A champ who doesn't fight in his division for 2-3 years? No way. They need all the belts they have even for the guys that do fight as you said, 3 times max per year.

    It has to be fair.

It seems the sport is in a perpetual cycle of new investment inflating purses and thus allowing fights to be made, followed by investments drying up and and fights being impossible to make due to inflated purse demands.
