How to fix corrupt scoring in boxing: "altboxrec.com"

That's why you vote for FIFTY judges...the voting process ought to ensure they are impartial.

 

Also, there should be a section where Judges with outrageous scorecards should have their names posted and tracked.

While I'm certainly on your side, this is all just fantasy-land. This and all the other great ideas will NEVER happen, because the people in charge have no financial reason to change anything.

- And folks here rant, rave, and grind their teeth, but then they renew their HBO, SHowtime, Epic, etc subscriptions anyway, and pay for the next PPV event.

You wanna REALLY change things? Suggest to all members of every online boxing community that they all, literally, boycott all the networks that carry boxing, and also PPV. Send letters to Showtime, et al why they are doing so.

This will never happen, but if it did, boxing would become legitimate overnight. It's the networks that have all the power. If they refused to show corrupt fights , due to subscriber losses, then Arum, King, GBP, and all the other snakes would have to start driving Hundais & eating at McDonalds. Things would change QUICKLY.

 

It is a good idea. Even if it doesnt become an entity in the sport itself. It would give an outlet to view controversial fights thru clearer, more trustworthy eyes as opposed to a view from the incompetent or worse, ethically compromised.

It would also allow us to track which fights and fighters have been wronged and shines a light on those who wrong them, and us.

I think Jmm will like this website. Lol And more than happy to be a spokesperson for it. He's a real honest fighter and not afraid to speakout against anyone even the establishment or his promotors. Networks and promotions will turn the other cheek of that I'm almost sure, but get some fighters in on this as much as their bosses might want them to hush about it the fighters need to let both casual and hardcore fans alike know about this.

 

If you can get guys like Dan Rafael to tweet about this site, it could get really big.

This wont happen for the simple reason that boxing journalist like Rafael are paid under the table by boxing promoters.

The thread starter is on to something if for no other reason to simply embarrass boxing officials, promoters, and even journalist who report biasly in favor of certain promotional companies.

As far as fightfans knowing when corruption occurs. I do think fight forums like this expose the corruption that exist in boxing.
When a bad decision occurs it becomes a hot topic in these boxing forum, so boxing is reallly already being exposed. Dont think boxing officials dont pay attention, they do, but they dont care!

The problem I think lies with the boxing media and and those who telecast it like HBO. Too many of them are paid under the table, and this more than anything corrupts the mind of the casual fan viewer and even alot of boxing fans that think they know something about boxing.

I wouldn't mind being a judge or having a vote of some sort on something like this.

Far too many bad decisions, really bad ones in recent years, some in the UK domestically aswell, like Stephen Smith vs John Simpson II

homie's site idea is good and very do-able.

A good way to promo would be to get in touch with all boxers who were victims of robberies that were overturned on this site....they'd almost all be willing to promote a site that gives them their just due. Make T-Shirts for all of the robbed boxers like boxrec's that say I'm #1 saying "I got robbed, check it for yourself at altboxrec.com"

 

That's a damn good idea. Somebody like Marquez would LOVE this.
