I wouldn't recommend throwing a headbutt especially in a fight outside the ring as its very likely to cause them to bleed, alot, and you dont want to be covered in some strangers blood. If your do use one make sure not to hit them in the nose as that will cause them to bleed the most. You also don't want to accidently headbutt them in the teeth because the mouth is the dirtiest part of the body and that could give you an infection. If you attempt throwing one and they try to pull their head away from you its possible you'll hit them in the mouth and cut yourself on their teeth.

Thanks for the tips. Headbutting teeth would probably be the worst case scenario since that would hurt the headbutter more than the person being headbutted.

Devon Alexander was talking about how his eyes were burning and couldn't see (he was blinking alot) after being headbutted by Bradley causing the technical decision in their fight. I think the headbutt was also square on his forehead.

Does headbutting someone hard on softer part of the forehead cause vision problems?

That headbutt looks so intentional, it's just disguised very well. Hopkins timed that headbutt.

You can do it when going for the clinch (ala Ward-Kessler), punching, or even during the step in like Clottey does

In a real fight I think a headbutt is a great tool.
