you're right. and I agree w. what you said with shadowboxing. It wont help your reaction time but it will help with how you react. If you want to improve reflexes, start sparing.
Exactly...unlearned. So shadowboxing and learning how to react has nothing to do with the actual speed you react, just how you react, which is important. Anyways, I agree with you on the sparring improving reflexes and reactions...shadowboxing is good too but I still say its not for improving reflexes but rather reactions which I see as two distinct things. A flinch to a punch is a reaction (triggered by your reflexes) and you can train your reaction to be slipping to the right (triggered by your reflexes) instead of just flinching by shadowboxing. How soon you execute either your flinch or your slip is dependant on your reflexes (how fast you can react).
:good yes plyo would be good after memorizing the actions/reactions whatever(you all know what i meant) since plyo is good for explosiveness/ quickness... i suggest improving the calves explosiveness it will facilitate in the foot movement and also in the punching
Interestingly, do a lot of work with soccer players, some from the Premier and Championship. All are sent to me. Usually its a preoblem through impact and overuse. More of interest is when there fitness levels are tested, plus Strength and coardination, its improved by between 10% and 15% everytime. Its certainly making the thinkers think. So much so theres a 3 year study in progress at the moment backed by the Sports Council :rofl.

Spar, spar, spar. After a long time of no sparring my reflexes, reactions and movement always seem to be laggy and out of sync, despite being fairly fit. After a good few sparring sessions though you definitely notice it pick up.
