Hi, about 5 months ago i had a rough sparring session with a professional kickboxer, where i got hit pretty hard multiple ocations. Since then i took a break from training and i noticed i have trouble concentrating, mood swings and its very hard for me to control my temper and emotions. Tbh i have had these things occur all my life but they hadnt happenned in a while. Do you know if its possible that after so long i still have the symptoms? Thanks

Yeah, that sounds like a concussion, one to the right frontal lobe to be specific. Probably wouldn't hurt to get yourself checked out. And yes, bad concussions can last for several months, even up to a year.

Was gonna make my usual joke post, but this sounds serious. Go to a doc.

Do you have reoccurring thoughts of Tyson Fury? If so it's probably not a concussion just infatuation.

Headaches? Sensitivity to light? Memory issues?

Were you walking around in la-la land after this hard spar?

Where things were confusing and everything just seemed off?

And then suddenly you just snap out of it, at some point, and you're back to normal.

That's what a concussion was to me.

    I highly recommend a brain transplant. j/k :)

It's good that you took some time off after that.

Yes i'll go to a doctor as soon as possible. Tbh i never thought that any of this could happen to me in my local gym, but punches to the head affect you no matter what. They are no joke

I got rocked, meaning when i got punched i closed my eyes and saw "stars", similar to when you close your eyes and put pressure on it with your fingers. I remember a year ago this happened one time and then every time i got punched it hapenned again, but that only lasted like a month.
I didnt really notice much after it, but looking back ive had a lot of negative emotional episodes that i had been able to hold off before that. Also ive been kind of all over the place regarding my life, and for some reason its harder than ever.

I had a lot of headaches since then but i didnt thought much of it, especially when in public.
I dont think i have noticed anything with sensitivity to light.
My memory is kind of the same but my mind is a little foggy, its like i cant really pin down anything.

Probably a concussion, might be worth getting looked at especially if you’ve had some before
