i can only land my punches to someones body if i throw a jab or a straight. when i try to hook or uppercut his body he's too far away. but he always gets me with crazy combinations and my chest is like bruised up right now. could my boxing stance be affecting me because i kinda squat and spread my feet out wide.

So you're used to taking it up the ass that you feel you need to make the same stance in the ring ehhh?

Don't just lead and reach down with a hook to the body. Set it up with a combo.

Throw a 1-2 and step in when you throw the jab and come down stairs with the left hook and be careful to get out of the way out counters. I like to pivot out after I throw the hook

If you're getting hit in the chest that much, you're probably fighting to square. You need to get more of an angle and reduce his target area.

But like bball said, use the hook after a quick 1-2 or double jab so you can get in close. And be sure to dig the hook, not arm punch, put your body into it. Make it count.
