See title what are some ways you think Ward can become a bigger star without taking the bad boy role of Mayweather, Tyson, Broner

In the past it did not work for Mosley and he had more charisma and a fan pleasing style that ward

    Here are some thoughts...
Do you think if he switched promoters and management and went with GBP or Top Rank it would change anything? Does he need a Al Haymon?
Is Ward that off compared to Sugar Ray Leonard & De La Hoya both of whom were marketed perfect?
Should they push for some type of commercial with Ward featured in it? I know this would be very difficult as boxers are generally not in commercials these days due to popularity
Is it a matter of getting him out of California for a while and putting him in MGM or even barclays
Should they try getting him to leave the country altogether and adopting a fanbase elsewhere

Its just messed up seeing a Olympic Gold medalist who won an elite boxing tournament undefeated family man with a interesting story (looked up to his dad until his death) be this ignored and unappreciated

    Thoughts?

I actually think Ward's been promoted and managed well, although someone more proactive in seeking out sponsorships would help his career out. The biggest thing that's stopped him is injuries; he had built up a great buzz around himself between the Super Six and the Dawson fight, but having to sit on the sidelines really slowed that momentum down while Froch was able to ramp his up after the S6 finals.

The biggest thing for Andre moving forward is to be more active to keep himself in boxing fans' eyes and minds, and to find an agency that can market him to the business world effectively.

I agree, actively seeking sponsorships would be Wards go.

I don't think he'll ever be a massive PPV star and I don't think Ward should have to compromise his upstanding values - just in order to make more money... Ward doesn't strike me as the type of guy who is defined by money anyway - unlike Floyd and Broner.

The beauty is, Ward doesn't have to compromise his values- I think there are a lot of companies who'd rather sign someone with the clean-cut, family first lifestyle of Andre over more flamboyant fighters like Floyd or Broner. But it will take a marketing agency that isn't afraid to pitch him to companies one might not initially associate with boxing. He's got cross-promotional potential.

get active, and show out on the next 24/7 type show. make himself a polarizing figure, not because of his style, but his out of the ring behavior.

Fight more. Increase his KO ratio. Fight in Vegas or Atlantic City more.

I'm a big Ward fan already, so it doesn't matter to me, but everybody loves a knockout and more glittery venues might attract some folks as well.

The sponsorship idea doesn't sound bad either.

Definitely move to TR or GBP fight in Vegas, LA & New York & headline major cards. Maybe even sign a sponsorship deal with Nike & get them to do some exclusive branding apparel like they do with Pac.

:deal Being active and dominating top opposition will get him there, but it will not hurt to fight CHavez Jr who is not top class but is name fighter so it would do him good and its easy win, than after that continue with top fights.

At this point in time, he just needs to get back in the saddle. Rodriguez is a pretty good opponent after a long lay off.

After that, if none of the big fights can be made at 168, namely Froch II, or Kessler II, I'd say take a hike up to 175 and start work up there.

Maybe if he steps on a plane & takes a fight outside of Oakland he'll get more exposure...

    Nah.

Although I do think he needs to expand his venues, it's all about the tv. He's got a major entity behind him, which is the biggest thing. BUt whether he fights outside of Oakland or not, his exposure to the masses won't change.

Step one: stop hiding away in your grans house in Oakland and fight away for once in your career. Why not return the favour to Carl Froch and travel to his home country to fight him.

Step two: now your 0 is gone you can actually fight all those names you've been calling out but mysteriously not ever facing. but before that...

Step three: a trilogy with Froch in Vegas

Step four: rebuild your shattered reputation after two defeats on the trot with an easy tune up at 175 against a rejuvenated nate cleverly.

    etc...
