I believe it will never happen. He has no ambition to be a star. He wants to stay always in your comfort zone, never fought outside of oakland, never tried to struggle to become a star/PPV-worthy fighter. He doesn't want.

:patsch I'm from Europe but this is bull****, he is American gold medal winner if he had GBP or TR behind him in few years he can be making much more money in US than he ever could in Europe...Even top European fighters like Kovalev, GGG are in US...

    Of course it would.

If he takes a big fight and even takes it in the likes of Vegas or NYC, he would gain far more exposure.

    Then you have all the European fighters that he could dare step on a plane and fight which are 1. winnable and 2. would give him more publicity;

    - Froch
    - Stieglitz
    - Kessler

The likes of Groves/Degale who are coming through.

Put on an event in South Africa against Oosthuizen.

I can't see him coming over to Europe, and for one there's a good argument as to why should he? The big money fights are the nights in Vegas and MSG, he should at least step out of Oakland and fight there if he want's to become more main stream + build some sort of fan following.

Keep fighting the best, keep winning, and keep being relevant.

Thats all Ward has to worry about.

The Dude commentates more than he fights.Getting active would be a good start and shutting up Froch would enhance his reputation.
Ward will beat Froch 100 out of 100 so why not travel to the UK and kill 2 birds with 1 stone?
Currently, not even his next door neighbour will watch his fights.

He needs the network more than he needs the travel. But as I said, he does still need the venues, but they will come with big fights.

You take Ward now and try to put him in Vegas or in MSG, and he just doesn't have the popularity to get it done as a headliner yet. Just throwing him out there with the idea of getting exposure......what will that do?

He'll need to build his fanbase, which is almost nil(aside from diehard boxing fans) outside of Oakland, and the best way to do that would be to keep fighting on HBO against top opponents.

Not saying it would hurt to travel. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on Froch or Kessler in their neck of the woods. But then allotments would be needs for time, etc.

My question would be, do you think HBO(or even Showtime) is looking to tap into the European market for Ward at this point?

He doesn't have the most entertaining style but neither does Mayweather so it's possible if he can make the necessary changes if he and his team are willing.

He first needs to stay active and injury free as he has lost some momentum from the impressive Dawson win.

He also needs to take on the very best available, why was it the beaten man Froch facing Bute not Ward? That win for Froch revitalised his career after losing to Ward, what would such an impressive win done for Ward?

Had he beat Bute then Dawson in 2012 and been willing to also travel to make fights then fans may warm to him.

It's ironic that Froch depsite losing to Ward is the fighter that has gained the most from the super six. Froch was filling small venues like Ward is now prior to the super six but fought in front of 17,000 against Kessler at the O2 Arena and will be facing Groves at the 23,000 capacity MEN arena.

Ward needs to do what Froch did, be willing to travel, be willing to face the best possible opponent at every opportunity. Casual fans don't appreciate carefully managed fighters, they like warriors who are willing to test themselves again and again, fans no longer have the patience for easy defences they want big fights all the time.

But firstly he maybe needs to get his own home fans following his career. He can't even draw big numbers at home like some fighters do. Maybe do what Hatton did and try to get the local big sports team fans following him. Wear Oakland raiders gear in the ring, go to the games regularly, change the stupid SOG ring name to Andre "The Raider" Ward etc. He needs to be more media savvy, his twitter feed is boring as hell, needs to reach out to the fans more, do something, anything to get people talking about him because currently nobody cares, he's going to be one of the best fighters of his generation would be a real shame if he spent most of his career in the shadows.

Make his style more active, stop clinching that much. Make him a bit controversial, I guess it helps. Make some noise in his division, statements or quarrels with other fighters. If you dont have a rival, then create one with words. You need some kind of rivalry that we can believe in 'till a point. US public seems to like trash-talkers, and those who talk themselves up.
Bute, Froch and Kessler all have lost fights. I think Ward fought them to fast and made them look like easy wins when they're not. You need to create anticipation, probably was trying that with Bute before he was defeated by Froch. You need to let ppl talk 1 year about a possible fight and make them want it, than just jump in as he did Against Kessler when nobody knew him, against Froch who was unjustly regarded as a raw and unskilled fighter and with Dawson who nobody expected to see it that soon.

    Just a thought.

He is going to have to go the 'circus' route and move up to Cruiserweight or Heavyweight for a fight. Worked wonders for Roy Jones career. Just handpick the weakest Crusierweight beltholder. That would generate buzz. Problem solved.

Why does he need to rematch Froch? Does anyone think the outcome will be any different other than him stopping Froch this time. He beat Froch in all departments last time.
