In a boxing world filled with corporate TV parachutes and shrills, none really understand the sport to the depth and level of those who have been there and done that, which is the reason why fans look to the guest commentator for any serious commentary. I wwas just thinking about what HBO & Showtime sports would be like if a healthy and vocal Mohammed Ali was present as commentator. How many of the fights I have watched would have been greatly magnified in entertainment value if it included that high level of commentary. Undoubtedly, Ali would have never left his elevated position as, America's most hated man, giving Floyd Mayweather a life different from what he has today. :yep
An entertaining fight does not need entertaining commentators. I personally don't give a **** about who's calling the fight when I watch.
