Can't believe there's only one mention of the 40s/50s.

Robinson, Gavalin, Basilio, Davey, Graham, Zivic ect

The point is that historically the 147-160 boxers that go up and down is always the most talented and competitive...look at the 60s... Paret, Griffith, Mantequilla, Cokes, Backus, Moyer, Nino, Giardelo, Torres, Tiger etc..

We probably will find more HOF boxers in either of the WW-MW range than any other divisions...

What about the 90s WW division? Prime ODLH, Mosley, Trinidad, and Quartey.

Does anyone know if today's WWs are significantly bigger than WWs in SRL and Hearns's time?

It’s hard to tell because the top guys today don’t seem to want to fight each other. Spence has great size and is a good boxer. He would stack up pretty well against the 80’s guys. I think he’d have trouble with SRL and Hearns because they were great boxers who could punch. Spence struggled against Brooke before his eye gave out. Also, Hearns and SRL would not have let Mikey finish the fight on his feet. Neither would Duran.

Crawford might be competitive against the 80s group but it’s hard to tell because he seems to only fight bums. Thurman would be competitive, at least the version before he was injured. The guy who fought Manny was tough but he’s not the same guy these days.

There are lots of talented guys at WW these days, my only compliant is that they don’t seem to want to fight each other. Two top guys are too concerned with protecting that 0.

One thing the early decades showed is that all the top boxers wanted to fight each other... and now with all these TV contracts... Arum and others don't want to mixed it up!!
