In my honest oppinion it is Floyd Mayweather's defence.

Since he says he is the best ever, how would the best boxers ever around
his weight act against his marvelous defence.

Floyd Mayweather vs Sugar Ray Robinson ?

Floyd Mayweather vs Sugar Ray Leonard ?

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao ?

Floyd won the fight, and his defense back then wasn't what it is now

castillo had his moments, but I am talking about a prime time floyd, not a ~ middle trained, a bit hurt pre fight Floyd.

lets say Floyd of the Coralles or Gatti fight, or even the Mosley one, a speedy, cat reflexes, high IQ defence magician Floyd, how do you beat that, how do you hit him, without getin hit yourself or how do you hit him in his face too make more simplye question?

The keys to beating an atg counter puncher with atg defence are 1) length, 2) hand speed 3) jab.

    At 147, this includes...

    Robinson
    Hearns
    DeLaHoya

Floyd's defense is definitely not the best ever. Not in any way you look at it.

Floyd's defence is good, but it was and could be better still. He backs up too much, when he decides to go into defensive mode (and he does have different modes he fights in). I blame Floyd's passivity with his age, and maybe less rigorous training.
Top notch guys like SRL always kept you on your heels. How you might ask? He would always be moving, seamlessly incorporate offence, defence, and countering all into one. To put it plainly he boxed, and non stop. He would throw a jab, wait for you to jab back, counter it with a left hook, step and spin out.

I would see SRL just pressing the fight against Floyd. Just walk him down with jabs and feints. Then just swoop in and out with 2 and 3 punch combos. SRL had ATG power at WW, and Floyd doesn't. Feint, jab, combo, power, speed, and just being slick. The proactive boxer at the elite levels almost always wins.

    SRR
    SRL
FMJ vs MP ? good luck have fun.

    this!

we all know sugar is amazing and as close to perfect as it gets

Roberto on the other hand will look bad early on for the first 2-3 rounds but the constant and smart pressure that roberto applies with the power hes got will wear floyd down and the fight will turn in which roberto should 8-4 or a 9-3 withround 3,4 and 5 being the close ones

    atleast thats what i think

    *i fixed your typo :good

floyd defense can be broken like any other . It's not the best defense bc he doesn't show a lot of variety in his defense. He's always in the same positions ,and relies on the shoulder roll too much. With the right punches + feints you can keep him in that position and exploit the gaps while creating openings.

Yea, I like putting Floyd in fantasy match ups with Robinson and Duran. They all started off in similar weight classes. It's stupid to imagine Leonard of Hearns against Floyd, they're much bigger than him.
