Look, Cretin, the thread is about Cortez not Dave Parris. Incidentally I was not a member on here immediately after the Kostya fight and would have been happy to debate Parris' contribution in any thread. You on the other hand take any post and twist it to your own ends. If you dont have anything of substance or thought to write, then save the virtual ink, and does us all a favour.
The fact that everyone noticed him says a lot. He was very poor in this fight. Lets put it like this if he'd refereed Duran Vs Leonard 1- Leonard would have won that fight.
Excellent job I dont see a problem with the officiating. What Hatton was doing was not inside fighting, he was grabbing, not fighting. He never went chest to chest with Floyd, stood in the pocket and fought. But he didnt. FLoyd held as well dont get me wrong. So I dont see the complaining, COrtez did the best of what he could. I dont see how he would allow them to put each other in headlocks and continue to fight. Hatton was sometimes holding onto the ropes and punching during the clinches as well, Im guessing Cortez shoulda let that go as well. Get real he did the best job he could do considering the situation. I got no fault with the officiating.
Yes because he was allowed to fight inside, if the ref had kept diving in this would have changed things.
Cortez was too involved definitely but if Hatton hadn't been trying to grapple so much he wouldn't have needed to so I dont think he can be criticised too much. He should've stopped it after the first knockdown though.
Cortez was damn near perfect imo. Called the rabbit punching and kept the holding to a minimum, although he did let the two fight on the inside as well.
Horrid. I think even if he had been firm Hatton would still have lost, but Hatton hadn't even touched him half the time and he was splitting them up. Hatton punched the rope and got a point deducted, only a Floyd-****er would say differently.
I thought he is okay . . . because he exerted tremendous effort in keeping that match into a boxing match. If he had allowed Hatton to play it as dirty as he is . . . it could have been questionable. The result is clear . . . that came about in a boxing match.
I thought he was pretty bad to be honest. However, i do not think that it had any bearing what so ever on the result.
he began warning hatton in the second round. he never warned pbf for the numerous elbows to the head. he was totally biased against hatton, and ruined the fight, period. It was pitiful yet telling to see pbf and cortez embrace and nearly kiss after the fight though.
it was btw just as I had predicted before the fight, that the ref was critical to there being a good match.
