He had unbelieveable speed at 130 135 and even 140. His lead right hands timed off his opponents rhythm was amazing to behold.

What would you say makes fighters so quick and able to release there muscle fibers so quickly and fluidly? running ??? sprinting? lots and lots of running? perhaps..

    He was born with it.

Some of it you can work on to an extent. Practice, repetition, muscle memory.

But all the training in the world won't turn Daniel Ponce De Leon's hand speed into the next Hector Camacho.

thats because corrales needed someone to stand infront of him to throw and he never did anything to change that mindset.

look how many punches corrales threw. floyd knew he could walk it as long as corrales couldn't adapt.

He was born with that speed, However that speed also is a big reason his output isnt as high as a normal welter, you have to give up one to have the other, he couldnt be that fast and have a Margarito like output for 12 rounds, he would simply fade.

Floyd Mayweathers handsspeed was nothing out of this world. He has never been a fighter who works in rapid fire. He great one punch speed and can work great in 1, 2 ,3 and maybe sometime's 4's. But he never had the natural abilty in my opinion to let combo's go like Roy Jones Junior or Sugar Ray Leonard. Even a 1966 prime Muhammad Ali had faster hands than Floyd Mayweather show me any footage of Floyd Mayweather matching Roy Jones Junior or Muhammad Ali in these videos. Floyd Mayweather has decent speed with great timing..he is nowhere near the level of Roy Jones Juniors Prime. No where near the "Speed Force"

    • He has never did some of the things Roy Jones did inside the ring, like throwing 6 left hooks in the row. And throwing combinations in rapid fire double digits.
    • Sugar Ray Leonard and Roy Jones Junior both have faster hand speed than Floyd Mayweather.
