George was the perfect definition of the boxing term...."the last thing to go is power"

Think of all the brutal fights we've seen Holy in.

George was able to hurt him bad & it made him apprehensive to plant his feet as others have said.

Does anyone else remember when George started his comeback on tuesday night fights?

He was fat as hell & it was looked at as a big joke.....but he kept knocking dudes out brutally.

I'm convinced that the Foreman who fought Holyfield was the best Foreman during his 2nd career.
This Foreman would have opened up can of whoop ass on Mike Tyson.
The Foreman who won the title against Michael Moorer was well over 3 years older and more deteriorated in every category.

The Foreman who fought Holyfield would'nt have had to have gotten Moorer out of there much sooner. I'd say in less than 6 rounds.

Foreman just had a sharp and heavy jab going vs Holyfield that I think most Heavyweights that were around during those days would have been stopped by Big George.

Early Holyfield was FAR from a power-puncher. He got by because of his super-human defense & work-rate.

He seemed to get a to stronger as he aged, though. (draw your own conclusions.)

When Holyfield damaged guys known for durability, it was because he timed things really well. Most likely, the guys didn't see the blows coming. The left hook upstairs that rocked Mercer back and forced him to take a knee was a perfectly timed shot. Bowe probably didn't see that left hook in the exchange that dropped him, and that right hand in round 10 against Tyson that sent him reeling was also perfectly timed. Tyson was telegraphing a shot and coming forward, and Evander caught him perfectly.

In round 7 when Holyfield was unloading all those blows on Foreman, Foreman could brace himself for the impact and also use the turtle defense to absorb of the power. He was a tough ****er.

The shot that really hurt Foreman was late in round 9. As usual, it was a perfectly timed shot by Holyfield. Great right hand counter over Foreman's right.

Tyson wasn't accustomed to taking punches which helped Holyfield stop him. Holyfield thought this too. In defense of Tyson. George was fantastic in strength and durability, though.

    Exactly.

George in his 40's fought 100% drug free yet faced men 10-20 years younger who were on massive amounts og GH and roids. Foreman is the greatest older fighter of all time.

Holy: well known roid and GH abuser.
Morison: admitted to using Roids during this fight and many others.
    Moore: Well known Roid user.
