How was it that Hatton just blew his wad with the Tszyu fight?

Never the same after that, unless a completely shot Castillo counts for much.

He didn't. He just caught an old Tszyu when Hatton was completely motivated with 50,000 drunken dart players behind him screaming obscenities with a lot of cheating and corruption

He's been fighting just the same, only less motivated and looking worse since that hit and hold **** doesn't look good against every style.

Because he left most of it in the gym due to the intense MMA training regimen he endured for 10 weeks prior to the fight!

That's funny, but with all due respect I don't think you've seen much of the pre-Tszyu Hatton. In 2004-2005 he was a beast.

Unfortunately I have endured the WBU days too.

Yes he was exciting and a beast, but only because the opposition allowed for it. Since then he has had to make up for a severe lack of head movement and defensive flaws with hugging, to smother his opponent unfairly and stop them from punching back.

his ko of maussa was great to watch, he should never have moved up to welter when floyd and cotto had the wbc and wbo, he shouldve gone for one of them! and castillo was ko'd because of that great punch, not many wouldve survived it

That was a great KO to be sure, but not a great performance on the whole.

He changed his style for Tszyu. Getting up close and smothering Tszyu was the perfect style to beat him. It nullified Tszyu's power and it helped tire out the aging man.

Unfortunately Hatton kept up this style instead of his far more exciting and probably more effective pre-Tszyu style that he had.

I loved Hatton back in the day. The WBU days. While he was fighting the creme de la creme of the taxi cab ranks in Manchester he looked great. I thought he was going to be a great fighter, and an exciting one too.

Unfortunately the Tszyu fight signalled the end of an era. Whilst he was world class as I thought, it also proved he would have to fight in a style more akin to a sumo wrestler to make up for deficiencies.

Turns out he has been neither been great nor exciting. His matchmaking has left a lot to be desired since Tszyu.

No one was saying he was shot until the Floyd fight.

I'm telling you right now, Hatton's natural style is MMA. He is just in the wrong sport is all. If he would just sign with the UFC already he could be a champ by this time next year. Especially if Mickey Vann can make the transition as well.

    I'm not sure.

Dave Parris should also be rewarded for his services to Ricky Hatton. It would be unfair to deny him.

TFFP is just saying it how it is, theres no liking him or disliking him, hatton has been fantastic for british boxing there is no denying it. but that doesnt change the fact that he beat tzyu on a fantastic night, and since then has looked less then impressive
