How was it with weight cutting in the past?

    There’s a long list of LaMotta opponents who were career welterweights who were not big money fights. They were just guys he was bigger than and could bully. He could have made the same fighting middleweights.

    But what you say is true today: those guys fighting Canelo between weights, Donny Lalonde fighting Ray Leonard for two belts at 167 … they were trying to make as much money as they could and they also have managers.

    Nothing has changed.

    But Jake was a weight bully. If he wasn’t, he’d have fought light heavyweights and come in at 165 as frequently as he fought welters coming in at 164.
