How was this Ali allowed in ring?

The same way Holyfield, Jones, Botha, and the rest of these completely shot boxers are. The Commissions aren't doing their job and doing the tough stuff. This is another reason why a strong Nationally commission is needed.

 

Man! When waching that vid I expected him to start drooling any second... Very sad, I didn't know he was this far gone when he fought Larry. He was only 38, the same age like Vitali now, but he looked like he was 50 and in bad shape. :shock:

 

And this Ali was still younger than Mosley.... (i.e closer to 38 than to 39 years of age)

 

the is a difference between ring age and chronological age.

 

Boxing is an amazing sport to me. But it truely is an unforgiving sport...

I agree that the comission does'nt do its job properly at times, they'll withdraw a boxers licence for comitting a crime but they'll allow an old fighter to risk his life cos they aint got the balls to end his career for him.

Ali was a pale shadow of his former self and I think Cossel was hinting at that in the interview. Ali was spouting off on intinctive memory rather than the razor sharp wit he was famous for and it's sad to watch.

I know Ali was in need at that time and financially hurt but still shouldn't have been allowed in, it was a disgrace to see him fight and it only made things far worse as obvious today. Ali ran out of gas after round one in the fight with Holmes.
