Ali was on neuro meds toward the end of his career.

Hey, it happens on the time, former greats who still think they got it fight on, either for pride and in other sad cases for the money, nothing different here, we saw it Moore, Louis, Tyson, and even Holmes himself.

the same reason they let guys like louis monaco fight guys like vitali klitstcho

vitali 6 foot 8 240 pounds and 15-0 and former kick boxing world champion

monaco had 7 wins and 11 losses at the time and 5 foot 11 220 pounds

only to finish his career with 16 wins 36 losses

its ok for this guy to get his ass kicked for 36 losses...... but all the message board yo yos talk about muhammad ali and riddick bowe and recently jermain taylor when there are 100 times more louis monacos out there than elite guys

The worst thing is they let him fight yet again after Holmes. A lot of people should've lost their right to be near a boxing ring over the way Ali's career was handled at the end

Ali had been robbed blind by the black muslims among others. I believe he was told he HAD to fight Holmes they needed the $$$$$$$$$$$.

Making matters even worse, he used so sort of thyroid drug to whip the weight off him in a short amount of time!

Your stupid. Ali took shots of some ATG heays throughout his career, while Joe Average does not.

If a man wants to fight, they have to let him fight...

Should the caliber of opponent be considered? Boxing is the only sport where you don't have to be good to be a pro. If Ali were not facing Larry Holmes, but instead some C-Level fighter or a club fighter he would probably win and win easily. Would you give the commissions the right to decide who someone can fight? I sure wouldn't.

I agree. People always point to this fight and ask "How could they let him fight Holmes??". What I never can get over is that after he got pummeled in this fight, a year later they let him go at it again. Truly sad.

damn, that was hard to watch... ali was shot to **** and you can only see the glimmer of what he once use to be in his eyes... his body was totally out of funk... even in the beginning of the video his arm was starting to shake a little and he played it off by waving it... should have called it quits sooner Ali... you are still the greatest though...

Speaking of Ali, why was he at the Mayweather - Mosely fight? He was looking in the wrong direction of the fight.

His coordination was all over the place during that interview, his speech was slurred, when he said "I'm 3 time champ!" while holding up 4 fingers, then a second later he looked and changed it to three. Howard Cosell could see it.

I was about 9-10 when that was on, I didn't know about things like that then, all I knew was that he was the greatest and was shocked at how he didn't do anything in the Larry Holmes fight.
