Beebick was a rough tough strong Heavyweight always in great shape.Good chin and stamina. His win over Pinklon Thomas was an upset. Thomas seemed to be sleepy on fight night and spent the rest of his career fighting in a daze. Obviously he was back on crack cocaine. But Berbick looked very good beating him.

Trevor went right at Tyson and threw full bloodied punches. It was a incredible performance by Tyson to do what he did to a strong proud man like Berbick

He was viewed as a legitimate belt holder. His win over Pinklon Thomas was a surprise and in retrospect may have been due to Thomas's sudden decline. But Berbick did get credit and was seen as rejuvinated after a few lackluster showings.

    • Berbick was fresh off beating the #2 heavyweight in the world which saw him on a 9 fight winning streak. He was well inside the top 5 at this point. Just prior to beating Thomas he sat at #8. I'd never seen any opinion of him being past prime. I remember immense hype and expectation on Tyson's chances but there was also some open mindedness on how Tyson would fare against the substantial rise in class that Berbick represented. It was a very good win made better by the manner in which it was achieved.

he just upset Pinklon Thomas who many had considered the best heavyweight in the world.
