I’ll never understand the affinity some have for Michael Spinks. Like his brother, two fighters who never left any kind of indelible mark in the HW division. Please don’t come back with Leon’s win over MH, nor MS two-time win over Holmes. Both were purely a splatter in the division over the course of history. Neither sniff my top 25 contenders of all time either. I’m ready for the barrage of naysayers.

This is how I envision the fight playing out, with Spinks doing quite well but eventually getting TKO'd around 10 or 11.

This is quite conceivable. If Bowe comes to box and concentrate on the jab, warming up, I can see it as you see it.

I think when it comes to guys like Bowe and pre-Steward Lewis, it depends on whether they were coming out for blood. Whenever they went out to kill, they mowed guys over, and Spinks' relatively small size would only feed their bloodlust.

When I stop by I can always find a thread with Rules hating on Spinks, lol. Hope all are well. Happy Holidays. I love and adore Michael Spinks but Prime peak Bowe is a tall order for anyone, sadly my boy Spinks would more than likely succumb mid to late rounds after winning a few on the basis of his many tools from his toolbox.

As some others have said, I can't see Spinks getting past the middle rounds. I've never rated Spinks that highly at heavyweight, he benefitted from excellent timing with an aging Holmes and an alcoholic Cooney. But against a young and fit Bowe? he gets brutally knocked out.

LOL! Happy holidays to you, my friend.

I should point out, I am a HUGE fan of Michael Spinks at Light Heavyweight.

Yeah he was a monster for sure at Light Heavyweight. He obviously caught Holmes at the right time in fight #1 for sure. And I thought he squeaked out the rematch as well but I can totally see someone also having it for Larry. Let’s not get it twisted I love Spinks and Larry. Prime Larry for sure beats him and that’s no knock on Spinks Larry is a top-3 for me and probably no lower than a top 5 all time Heavyweight and Spinks is an ATG LHW who moved up and dethroned an aging champ. But Larry would prove years later he could still fight, ask Ray Mercer. Spinks in my opinion in many peoples minds will just never shake off the image of that Tyson fight. He gets so underrated because of that. I doubt very few other Heavyweight Champs of the past beat him like Tyson did. It was a combination of Tyson’s style being Kryptonite for Spinks and Spinks seemingly terrified and very uninterested in being there. As for the man himself Michael Spinks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him on multiple occasions and he’s a fantastic man, very warm and very inviting. I’ll be back again rules to defend Spinks when I see fit lol. Again Happy Holidays Rules and to all here on the Forum. :partyhat::xmas::xmas2:

Spinks froze up against Tyson because of fear. Spinks beat Cooney because Cooney was strung out on drugs and alcohol. Spinks should of lsot both fights against Larry Holmes. In any case I don't see how Spinks would lost more than 1 round with a in shape Bowe.
