Within a 10 year span in his pro career Usyk managed to pull off being a force in both CW and HW. Personally I think Usyk would be very competitive in any HW era, although it's hard to know if his unbeaten record would go unscathed. If we were to put Usyk in a time machine for him to compete in the HW division within a 10 year span how well do you think the Usyk that we've been seeing at HW would fare in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s era?

1960s - Sonny Lison, Floyd Patterson, Cassius Clay, Joe Frazier, Oscar Bonavena, George Chuvalo, Ernie Terrell, Ingemmar Johansson, Zora Folley, Jimmy Ellis

1970s - Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Ken Norton, Leon Spinks, Earnie Shavers, Jimmy Young, Ron Lyle, Jerry Quarry

1980s - Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson, Michael Dokes, Gerrie Coetzee, Pinklon Thomas, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tubbs

1990s - Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Michael Moorer, George Foreman, Ray Mercer, Andrew Golota, Tommy Morrison, Hasim Rahman, Donovan Ruddock, Ike Ibeabuchi, David Tua

He would do very well. Generational fighter. Perfect HW in a lot of ways. Fits the mould well.

Out of all the fighters in those lists realistically the only fighters I could see beating him are.....

Liston, Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, Frazier, Holyfield, Norton.

All those decades would fit him like a glove. He'd do very well.

As would he probably do in the next 4 decades if it were possible.

    Elite fighters are gonna elite....

I would add prime Riddick Bowe to that list.

Perfectly put. He wins some loses some. He’d do well enough in any era to gain respect from his rivals/critics/sportswriters.

    I favour Usyk over anyone.

Fighters I think would give him the best fight:

Liston, Frazier, Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis.

But again, I make Usyk a favourite over them all.

I believe that a true great from one era would be great in any era. Although heavyweight is a bit different because there can be such a disparity in size, this goes for Usyk at heavyweight.

Looking at the lists you used and I see men like Bonavena, Shavers, Dokes and Ruddock. They are all quality fighters with some good names on their resumes but they aren't great and they don't beat Usyk.

The fighters with legitimate chances to beat Usyk are Liston, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis. Essentially, other all-time greats.

Lol Usyk isn't a force in the current heavyweight division. He only had 5 or 6 abouts. How can you call that being a force. You wil say but he beat Joshua and Fury. You mean the same Joshua who got knocked out by Andy Ruiz? Tyson Fury is 35 and only beat Wilder a guy with no skill and a old Wlad. You do realize this era for heavyweights is bad right?

Usyk might beat Leon Spinks, None of the guys you named in the 1980's Usyk could beat. None of the guys you named in the 1990's he could beat Everybody else in the 1970's beats Usyk easily and he might could be some of the fighters you named in the 60's.

Lol this Usyk crap is getting out of hand. He beat no talent hype job Fury. Okay can we move on. Fury wasn't that good and Usyk beating him doesn't make him special either.

Lennox Lewis is rubbish, guy got knocked out by Rahman and McCall, absolute bum.

Tyson Fury beat a bum in Władimir Klitschko who got knocked out by ****ing Ross Purrity.

Foreman is a bum too now that I think about it, beaten my Jimmy Young

He beat all the best guys that was put in front him. Yes he's a force to be reckoned with and a legitimate ATG who would do well in any era.

Lol right but Usyk wouldn't do well in any other modern era. He beat no talent Tyson Fury, that doesn't make him a ATG or world class fighter.

So my point stands. Any legit top heavyweight from the 70's to early 2000's would be heavily favored to beat Usyk. Usyk could beat Butterbean but I would favor Butterbean as well.
