I think that both guys are going to be very very disapointed with what they bring home from this fight compared to what they think they will get. Both guys seem to think that they will break records again but I just don't see it happening. So many of the people that bought the first fight were disapointed with it and a lot of them were casual boxing fans. I don't think those people are going to fall for the same hype again. I'd be surprised if they broke 1 million buys this time around (still an awsome number but less than half of what they got the first time around)

It won't do as good as the first fight but still do very well.

Assume that it does do 1.4 million. With the kind of purses that Oscar commands (say at least $30 million). How much will that leave for Floyd?

If DLH knocks out Forbes he'll get back in the public eye who will eat the fight up.
If Mayweather knocks out Big Show the fight will get bigger. :D

I can tell you that I won't personaly buy it.

The idea that it will do better is laughable. Most of my fair weather boxing fan friends thought the fight was boring.

    1.4 million is $77 mil at $55 a pop.

Enough for Floyd to blow thru way too fast, and then be in need of another 8 figure payday, and then drop his lawsuit against Top Rank and sign to fight Cotto in early 2009.

    We can all dream, right?

Things is though it won't be big time boxing fans buying the fight, it appeals a lot to the mainstream as floyd now pretty much a household name like de la hoya, the fight will sell very well, though i think slightly less than last time

It won't do half of the business. The lustre is off of that match up. We will see how DLH looks against Forbes to see if they can shine it up.

Right but thouse maintsream people bought the fight last time and they were very very disapointed. To this day I still hear people that know jack **** about boxxing talking about what a **** fight it was. I doubt those guys are going to buy it again.
