Figure this would be better posted here as the folks here have better knowledge than in the main forum, How would these 2 have done in the early 80's at 126-130 vs the best and others of that time. Pedroza, Sanchez, Limon, Chacon, Edwards etc. I think they would fare well, thoughts
I think Marquez would have a Rocky Lockridge type career.Among the best in the division and competitive with everyone, but not better than a Sanchez, Pedroza or Nelson. Pac would not have torn through the divisions back then.he was very frail below Bantam and would have been whipped by any of the better champions like Chang, Zapata or Watanabe. He would likely have picked up a title at superbantam, but like Gomez would have found Featherweight too much against a Pedroza or Sanchez. Thinking about it, he would fare pretty damn badly in my eyes, at least in comparison to what he could achieve against the aging Mexicans like Barrera, Morales and Marquez. Probably seen as a dangerous flawed splinter titleist.
I think pedroza is getting overrated, he fought alot of ham n eggers and whenever he fought someone good it was either a controversial decision or a fight where he barely edged it. Lockridge, laporte and taylor were prolly his best opponents and he beat neither in a convincing manner.
