How well would Jerry Quarry do in the 1980's?

Probably he'd grab a title but be inconsistent. He had the power, chin, resiliency and talent to do very well.

It is fairly common knowledge with the fight people out of southern California that Quarry worked Norton over a few times in sparring, even KOing Norton once in sparring. Quarry also slapped around a young Foreman pretty good also.

Quarry was completely shot by the time of the Norton fight. His last win inwhich he looked good was Shavers. He looked horrible in his tune up fight for the Frazier rematch, getting dropped and generally looked very sloppy. He topped that by looking even worse against Frazier. He came in at a good weight 197/198, but had no muscle tone and no snap on his punches, taking a brutal beating that should have been stopped much earlier than it was.

This is common knowledge. Quarry got the better of Norton every time they met in sparring which was several times. Quarry was shot for the Norton fight. Prime vs Prime I'd favor Quarry.
