No, I said he's not even a MW in terms of height, not that he couldn't compete there.
Hell, even Mayweather is taller than him.

Man, some people live in dreamland. Langford will get beaten to a pulp.

Skill wise I can't imagine Langford beating anybody from Welterweight up today. It is funny when these old clueless boxing fans keep talking about historically speaking. Or keep bringing up how good this or that fighter was for his day. This isn't the 1890's and early 1900's anymore. Boxing has evolved. Being for that era doesn't equate being good compared to modern boxers.

Even the worse boxers today would destroy anybody from Sam Langford, Jack Dempsey or Jack Johnson's era.

boxing hasnt evolved I did a video saying if anything it has devolved ..watch the Langford footage and see how many raw jabs langford blocks with his rear hand or elbow ..note while he is blocking he is jabbing or intercepting punches.Look at how he is able to generate knockout blows in the clinch(he drops jeannette from a right inside the clinch) he demolishes the poorly skilled boxers of today in any division.

his footwork was perfect he was a pressure fighter you gotta really watch his fights to see he never stepped back he kept going to get your back against the ropes then he ended you from there, is a carbon copy of Joe louis , with the same level of knockout power but better defense believe it or not and better inside game .

To your credit, you did do a video. But it really wasn't very good, no offence. 2 second clips to show technique? It's honestly not much good. Maybe you could do another, narrated this time, using extended footage at some point. So it really didn't explain anything. It's also just your opinion that boxing has 'devolved.' You'll find support with that, but most fans wouldn't agree.

That would, if true, make boxing quite literally the only sport that has gone backwards.
The only one. The mere suggestion of such is laughable.
Some techniques may not be used today, for obvious reasons. That doesn't mean they're lost forever, or that fighters wouldn't know how to apply them.
What we see today is what works for today.

Racing drivers from earlier Formula 1 eras used to shift gears manually. Today it's all semi - automatic. Does that mean the modern F1 driver would be lost if he had to change gears? Don't be daft.

At least provide a reference point in time where you think the sport started going backwards. The 50's, the 60's, the 2000's?

Canelo is half inch taller than him. I mean, that's nothing and Sam had much longer reach.

By the way, boxing evolved indeed - but evolution is not a progression.

Bert Cooper was losing to guys like Reggie Gross and Nate Miller and Everett Martin, in his prime.
He's not beating the likes of Jack Johnson and Harry Wills, or even the lumbering Jess Willard.

What about Cesar Chavez? Do you think Julio runs through Cooper like Langford runs through Joe Joyce?
