In the old times heavyweights used to be ripped with low bodyfat. They had unlimited amount of stamina.

Now you can be top 10 heavyweight being overweight. Chisora, Whyte and Miller are all way overweight. Chisora should be 210 lbs, Whyte 220 lbs and Miller around 230 lbs. Thats their natural bodyweight IMO.

i dont think either chisora or whyte are overweight. miller appears to be overweight, but he has turned his mass into a weapon. i doubt he would be as effective at 230.

Chisora is about 10-15lbs overweight but isnt too bad, Ive seen him go into his mums house hes a big chap obviously.
Whyte is puffy and could lose some weight. Miller is a joke, however size, strength and will seems to be the order of the day recently.

But these guys still have very good cardio for people of their size.

Ok, Miller is obese and then some. But he is built like a tank, carries the weight really well, and stamina doesn't seem to be an issue for him.

Haye was built like an adonis at one point - his gas tank was shocking.

It's a reflection of society as a whole, the fact there is no weight limit means there's no need to cut down to their best weight.

Old time heavyweights also had to fight 15 rounds, so had to do more aerobic work to have the stamina to not gas out after round 12, that will result in slimmer leaner heavyweights than we currently have.

Because it is the 'heavyweight' division and not the 'Hollywood' division where having Hollywood looks matter.

And let's not pretend past boxers weren't also fat, chubby, fleshy and overweight. Joe Frazier alone had a small beer belly. Ali was also chubby and flabby in the 70's. I could keep going on and on. But this constant worshiping and over-hyping of past era boxers whilst totally downplaying modern boxers has to stop.

Nobody ever had ulimited amount of stamita in HW. I dont know why you say so, tbh.

Stamina management has always been critical in HW. Not important, no, I mean critical.

The golden 70's had a Super Heavyweight championship, contested between overweight fighters

Because hardly anyone is big enough to be a heavyweight by modern standards, and almost none of them can box.

Whyte and Chisora are huge guys, they’d be drained zombies at 220. In Millers case his size combined with his high output over 12 rounds is what makes him a threat. His weight makes it easier to break his opponents down, and harder for them to break him down.
