Now that is bull****, IMO.
WEAK... Chavez should fight Rubio. (Winnable fight)

Nobody gives a **** about the other names mentioned.

I really do think this will eventually result in Martinez and Rubio having to fight an "eliminator" while Chavez gets to make a second optional defense against a bum or the Cotto/Margarito winner. Maybe Martinez and Rubio will just fight in October so there will be one less excuse for Arum and the WBC to avoid the winner.

I'm going by their written rules. There's nothing in there that guarentees the Emeritus Champ a title shot. There is a rule where they can have a special vote to name anyone they want basically as the mando. That's probably what happened with Vitali. The WBC rules are pretty cleverly written. They can basically give or deny anyone a title shot for basically any reason.

And they have the always unbiased Board of Governors, so these completely incorruptable members can objectively judge whatever case Don Jose Sulaiman brings in front of them.

Too bad Rocchigiani didn't finish them off.

They will tell Martinez to go **** himself. The WBC aren't accountable to anybody. They can go against their supposed rules should they wish to and there's **** all Martinez can do about it.

What I can't figure out that outside of giving Chavez Jr. a free pass to the title, how exactly did they figure to clean the whole mess up with Martinez being active and the Emeritus title cannot be stripped? They are probably thinking: okay... so what now? And it's a really good question.

Maybe they thought DiBella and Martinez would be so pissed that they'd just give up on the belt like they did with the WBO? Then again, that doesn't make much sense since they could have just stripped Martinez without giving him the emeritus belt...

Also, while the belt being given to Zbik was likely a direct product of the commission's efforts to get it on Chavez, I've also heard that they were pissed off that Martinez walked out with The Ring belt for the Williams rematch.
    What a classy organization.

Martinez would be required to fight 27 eliminators against Cruiserweights.

Of course, if Martinez could leave Dibella and sign with Arum....

Chavez would still probably be protected just because Martinez isn't a big draw and wouldn't become one with Top Rank before he retired. See how long Gamboa was kept away from Lopez (though in that case they couldn't protect Lopez long enough anyway )

Peter isn't any kind of a draw, so I don't think that he WBC had a vested interest in having him hold their belt. Chavez, on the other hand, can milk the popularity of his father for years to come if he's allowed to fight against sub-par opposition. That means plenty of sanctioning fees for the WBC. Don't be surprised if they decide to bend their rules with regards Martinez challenging Junior.

That's exactly what I'm expecting, I just don't know the how. They need to clean their mess up sooner or later, but the logical (mandating Jr to fight Maravilla) is the most unlikely.
