I've read comments on here before that Lennox Lewis stock has risen after his retirement, indeed this happens with a lot of sports stars.

Hatton and Calzaghe have been the 2 big stars of British Boxing in recent years and both have a lot of critics and supporters.

If Hatton was to retire now and Calzaghe stayed retired, how would they be remebered in 10 years time? Do you think their stock would rise or fall?

I think it would remain pretty much the same.

Calzaghe would probably raise slightly, Hatton fall.

Calazaghe as a british great with a few question marks over some of his competition but generally that he would have been a tuff fight for anyone for a number of years
Hatton a good fighter with massive fan support but not quiet an elite fighter who was maybe protected for too long

Both British all time greats. Calzaghe will be more appreciated worldwide and Hatton will be remebered as having the biggest support of all time, always wanted to fight the best, was world class but unfortunately not elite level.

Calzaghe 1 of the greats of this era.
Defidently have him higher than hatton but not by much.

Don't think time will have a major affect on their lagacy. Calzaghe will go down as one of the great British fighters and Hatton as good fighter who didn't make at the top level.

Dunno about Hatton, but Calzaghe's stock will most definitely fall.

His resume will depreciate as the hype surrounding Lacy is forgotten and Kessler continues to underachieve.

Calzaghe as an all-time middleweight legend. (worldwide, not just in britian)
Hatton will be known for being a great fighter with a forward roughhouse style and one of the biggest fanbases a fighter in the sport of boxing has ever had.

Hatton will drop like a rock. Calzaghe will probably remain the same as his most notable wins came from boxers past their primes.

They will both be remembered as decent fighters who eventually stepped up and won world titles. I think the difference will be that Hatton took a chance and went for the risky fights while Calzaghe didn't.

That said, Calzaghe is the better of the two.... as much as I dislike him!

I don't see any of the current crop of British boxers eclipsing them to be honest.

Hatton will fall but Calzaghe wil stay the same unless he unretires and loses..See I think he is overrated but he is undefeated so he gets some points for that just the level of competition he faced wasnt that good...kinda like Marciano..timing is everything too so that isnt all his fault too.Hatton is good but not great fighter...fun to watch but thats it.

Calzaghe will rise no doubt but by how much depends on how Jones does against Lacy and if Kessler comes out of his rock hes hiding under.

Hattons damaged tho and will probably be forgotten as his biggest wins are tszyu who he should have had a point or two deducted and Maliggnaggi. But he gets a lot of respect from me as his only two losses are to the P4P#1 but his last fight loses respect due to his style. it was just so flawed and ugly against manny and as much of a nice guy manny is he exploited that weakness and brutally ****ed hatton up

Calzaghe's will rise and Hatton's will fall. I hate the way Team Hatton tried to make out he was the best post War fighter ever. What a joke.
