Cotto has not had to chase anyone at 147 like he will have to against Floyd while still trying to land good shots......the early rounds is when Floyd makes a fighter expend most there energy....because later rounds is when gaps are widened because of fatigue....this is why Floyd appears to be so much better in later rounds fighters are either tired physicaly from working so much and so hard in the early rounds and taking pot shots, tired mentally because they cant land anything really solid and have been eating strong pot shots begin to gamble leaving crazy openings, or both.

Now i dont see Cotto gambling in the ring...he just doesnt do that...however physically he can get tired and with a leaky defense tack on fatigue and facing the most accurate fighter today....it could spell catastrophe.

Cotto to win will have to match Floyd in intensity every round he will have to be able to step it up with floyd in those later rounds because its no given he wins the early rounds cus Floyd usualy pot shots 2 or 3 early rounds in the bank....he dominates later rounds for reasons mentioned above.

Both fighters have their work cut out but i think Cotto has a lot to work on.

Its very hard to hit Floyd flush ... with the fast twitch reflexes ... faints ... and good head and shoulder movement its going to be hard to hit him.

Cotto would have to find a way to get in ... he would have to find a way to counter movements - not punches ...

He would have to make rapid fire adjustments as well ... something that i've never seen him do ... and if he doesn't switch it up inbetween rounds he's fresh meat ... because we all know that when Floyd gets 4 rounds into the fight thats when he usually takes over. NO matter what his opponent is doing ...

Cotto would also have to tighten up his defense because a very hittable opponent for Floyd is an easy win for Floyd.

Cotto throws too many punches for Void. Cotto will beat Void, so would Margarito, which is why Void is running from them both.

By bringing educated pressure the way Castillio and De La Hoya did. Cotto is also quick as well so his handspeed as well as his inside fighting could cause harm to Mayweather. I think that a safe bet would be Mayweather by decision in a hard fight.

I don't think that could happen ... you can't beat PBF with pressure and aggression ... he's used to fighting guys like that ... if Cotto fights like that he gets picked apart.

I think that Cotto would have to have a right hand ... the thing about Castillo was he was used to fighting on the inside and used to fighting his way to the inside ...

Add to that - that Castillo had tremedous power with his right hand along with his left hook.

But more than anything Castillo's movements played a key factor in that fight ... he didn't just pressure PBF ... he didn't just walk in or stalk him ... he used his head and shoulder movements and used both hands effectively ... Cotto IMO can't do that !!

You left one thing out PBF was injured in there first match. And if Castillo made the so called blueprint on how to beat PBF it sure didn't work in the rematch. I think you need a type of fighter like Forrest to beat PBF. :bbb

cotto is faster than castillo 4 one and he is way better technically,, fraud at 147 tends to rest in the ropes too much looking to counterpunch with his shoulder roll philly shell def. he is very open to right hooks to the kidney and ribs area which cotto throws and then cotto will follow uo witha left ppercut right down the middle to the solar plexes region just like the one he KD gomez with FRAUD is very open to that punch and he will verly likey to go down if cotto lands that same punch he land on gomez,,FRAUD has never faced a body puncher as good, strong and powerfull as cotto cotto will tko fraud late mark my words

Correct. The 2nd fight wasnt really competitive, especially down the stretch. Floyd won that fight easy 8-4 at the least. By round 10 he was landing flush on Castillo repeatedly.

Forrest is too stiff and has no good movements in the ring ... he's a stand up fighter with limited mobility.

Once you get inside on Forrest - he's vulnerable for anything you bring to his chest.

He was overwhelmed by Mayorga and any fighter that loses to that guy doesn't get any clout in my book.

I see Floyd hitting him at will and winning a decision and possibly a stoppage by accumulation --

Prime or no prime PBF destroys Forrest !!

He rarely rested on the ropes against Baldomir, Judah or Hatton. The only fighter he relied alot on counter punching off the ropes was Oscar. Thats because Oscar still has one of the best jabs in boxing, and one of the best left hooks in boxing. Floyd had to respect his strength, ESPECIALLY at 154. Cotto is smaller then Oscar, doesnt have a left hook like Oscar, and is slower. Floyd doesnt have to respect anything Cotto is throwing nearly as much and Floyd can easily box him from the outside, like he did Judah, Baldomir and Hatton.

:rofl You are now comparing a slow weaker fighter to Floyd Mayweather? So if Floyd Mayweather gets hit by the same punches Cotto gets hit with, does that mean Mayweather catches Cotto the same way Gomez was catching Cotto? The same way Mosley, Corley, Torres ect were catching Cotto? You know, the same Cotto who has a horrible defense?

yeah oscar power and strenght has to be respected so much since he couldnt Ko a natural 130 pounder in forves while getting his faced busted along the way, fraud hang along the ropes against hatton an juadah watch the fight again idiot...

oh and gomez is a natural 154 pounder a way bigger guy than FRAUD and when u r against the ropes ur body is exposed

im tellng u with Cotto's defense and suspect chin if he tries opening up on Floyd while he is in that defense....Cotto will eat A **** LOAD of precise punches people....look at Floyd highlights while on the ropes he sneaks in some sharp punches especially uppercuts when he is on the ropes....if i were Cotto i'd go in land a quick combo and get the fukk outta dodge...he stays there and he will expend more energy missing for one and he will be getting tagged very often....i wont be surprised if an uppercut hurts Cotto and wobbles him at least once in that fight.

Cotto will not head hunt, he's going to kill Floyd's body and shoulders. He will occasionally land a hard right and continue to breakdown Floyd throughout the fight. I wouldn't be surprised if he stops Floyd late by dislocating Floyd's shoulder with his devastating power shots....Trust me win or lose Cotto is going to put a serious hurtin on Pink Floyd.
