How Will Cotto's Scar Tissue Play into Mayweather-Cotto?

He sure busted Ortiz's eye.

 

scar tissues are weaker than his normal skin....cotto's face will again be a bloody mess.


however, floyd will break a bone on his hand and cotto wins by tko.

 

Floyd is the low out-put high accuracy type of fighter. He will place most of his shot on the chin so he is going to hurt his opponents but not exactly disfigure them. I can not see Cotto scare tissue playing a big part in this fight.

I got a feeling this is going to be a very interesting fight.

 

To be fair Hatton was awful for cuts through his whole career.

I do think however any boxer's punch can cut.

 

cotto isn't exactly leather face either though...he tends to puff up a lot

 

If Floyd starts throwing an uncharacteristically high number of accurate punches, then he could certainly cut Cotto, and possibly badly enough for a stoppage, but I doubt that happens.

 

Cotto(e) has HOF paper face.

Floyd didn't need to throw much to cut Hatton. It was a right, left hook, right (made sure it didn't land squarely and just scraped to cause the cut), and right that did it.

I wouldn't even call it a combo with how much time he put in between every punch in that sequence.

 

To answer question regarding scar tissue isse, YES! ... Thats why I think the fight gets stopped more so than Floyd knocking cotto out.

On another note, you guys on here are hilarious! You really think Floyd was trying to KO Ortiz with the first shot? .... He was merely throwing a check left hook to get a "small payback" for the illegal butt, just seconds before (which never gets brought up as to how we eneded up in the situatiojn in the first place) .... He was just trying to catch him, hoping Ortiz would then get back to fighting ... when Vic "The Tree" Ortiz looked at the ref for whatever reason, Floyd then took advantag of the opportunity. And best believe Ortiz could have gotten up, but he wanted a way out. Look at his reaction once they got him up and sat him on the stool, where he hugged Floyd and during his interview with Merchant n the post fight. That doesn't look lik a man who felt he was illegally beating, it looks like a man who was happy it was over with.
