How will Froch rank in British all time rankings if he wins the supersix?

If froch could win the super 6, win kessler in a rematch and beat bute...very hard ask all round but would that make him ibhof worthy? In my book I'd say probably aye

 

Have you even watched Calzaghe/Kessler because I have difficulty believing anybody with eyes found enough rounds for Kessler and anyone will tell you I'm his biggest fan.

As for this idea that he 'would of won in Nottingham' as he and his fans say...what we are actually saying is 'Froch would have won a hometown decision AGAIN in Nottingham'.

 

Froch is a helluva fighter and without doubt one of the most fearless fighters in the last 20 years. At this points its all ifs and buts, Froch still has 2-4 years at his peak so lets just see where he is then. In my opinion he is already a legend and im sure over the next few years he will go on to establish himself more with a few more credible wins.

If the Calzaghe Kessler fight was in Denmark Calzaghe would still have won. It wasnt even close.

Calzaghe beats Froch 10 out of 10 if they met up h2h. Froch may end up with a better resume but probably not.

 

Very true on both counts. Froch fought a great fight but came up just a little short.

 

Venues do make a difference, but with the way those two fights panned out I'm not sure the results would have changed on this occasion.

Still, if Froch was to fight Kessler again, I'd say he'd have more chance of winning in England than he would in Denmark.

Fight locations DO have an impact on fights, you only have to see the way that many boxers fight tooth and nail just to try and get a fight on home ground.

Tactics, perhaps unforced, change fighting away, it's bound to be on the boxers mind he has to really impress or get a KO, which is bound to change his game and induce additional pressure. I also think a screaming crowd influences the judges to some degree.

As I said though, the Calzaghe win was a clear one, I couldn't see the fight result altering in Denmark.

The Froch fight was close, but I think Kessler did enough to win it. I enjoyed that fight and would have loved to have seen a rematch.

 

Arguably Froch did not try to impress or go for the KO enough. Thats what a lot of the people that say he would win a rematch claim.

 

Calzaghe clearly beat Kessler and that wasn't a hometown decision. However I do feel that if it was in Denmark then it would have been a closer fight and Kessler might have nicked it on the judges cards.

Kessler also pretty clearly beat Froch and that wasn't a hometown decision either. Again though if that fight was in Nottingham, it would have been different and Froch would have probably done the better work to take a points win.

The location has a massive bearing on how a fight pans out.

Anyway if Froch does manage to win the super 6 he'd arguably be one of the best boxers this country has ever produced. Of course Sky still wouldn't have mentioned him once!

I couldn't understand his tactics on the night to be honest. I know it can be argued that Kessler didn't let him go forward, but from the start Froch didn't seem to try and be the aggressor or apply pressure to Kessler. From the opening bell, Froch was back peddling popping jabs, I honestly did think he's not going to get a result in Denmark doing this, even if he deserves it (as it is he didn't do enough anyway).

Rob McCracken himself after the fight said he was disappointed that Froch didn't push on when he should have, that he didn't apply enough pressure or go for Kessler when the opportunity arose.

Froch really did need to push on in those latter rounds to stand a chance of winning it, he seemed to appear a bit more lethargic than normal, perhaps Kessler took a lot out of him (with the body shots etc), I don't know.

 

I think Froch gambled on banking all the early rounds behind the jab but he just didn't do enough to pull it off imo.
