How do people reckon this fight will start..and develop... Do you reckon Froch will come out firing on all cylinders or will he start more cautiously trying to pick his bombs..
I think Froch will start very cautiously and Taylor will catch the eye with his good job and take the first few rounds comfortably, then I expect to see Froch try and take control and land a few of his heavy shots. making the mid rounds pretty close. At the halfway point Taylor will be a couple of rounds up and we'll see Froch really step it up from rounds 6-9 catching and hurting Taylor several times. With 3 rounds left Taylor will rally and have a strong finish to the fight but the rounds will be hard to call. In reality Froch will be 1 or 2 rounds up but the home town fighter will get the decision...cue calls for a rematch in the UK. :good All the above depends on Taylor being up for it. If he isn't then I expect Froch to dominate and get the stoppage by round 8.
taylor will start out very well, really take the fight to froch, and will fairly badly batter froch in the opening rounds, in fact i think froch will get such a pounding there is a possibility, even with his noted chin he may get stopped around the round 5 mark, then if hes still there, i think froch will get into the fight a bit past the halfway mark, and will win a few rounds in the second half of the fight though that wont be enough. Although if froch is to win, and i think its certainly possible, it will be by KO if he really catches taylor with something good in the second half of the fight, or taylor runs out of gas. If this goes the distance i believe it will be taylor wide UD, and i certainly expect that whatever happens, taylor wins the first 3 rounds pretty heavily and without much problems.
Taylor is a cautious fighter so I don't see the first few rounds being much to get excited about unless Froch can get him to trade. Those rounds will be arguable for scoring and people online will be saying Froch slow Froch being outboxed etc. Froch starts winning most rounds 6, 7 and 8 on aggression and on starting and ending most exchanges even though Taylor is landing some big shots he doesn't follow them up and when a tiring Taylor gets more adventurous and opens up in the 9th he gets knocked down by a Froch combination ending in a sweet uppercut. Follow up sees ref stop fight late in round 9. And still WBC Super Middleweight champion of the world, from Notting-ham England Carl 'The Cobra' Froch U red
How many Brits are going over for this one? Hopefully he will have abit of support out there. I can see the first 6 or so rounds being fairly even, before Froch starts to increase the pace and lets his hands go. Rallying to a comfortable points victory.
I think Taylor's tactics are the key here. If he stays at distance and uses his jab effectivly then I think he wins because I can't see how Froch turns it into the war I think he needs to win. If Taylor, who famously "Doesn't like boxing", has under-rated Froch and thinks he can trade punches with him then I see Carl winning within 6 rounds. But it all depends on Taylor.
It will be similer to Froch Pascal.... Froch will start fast and put it all over Taylor from the beginning and out fight him. If a club fighter skilled boxer like Pavlik could outbox Taylor what is a former World Class amateur like Froch going to do. Froch bullies him out of the fight taken an upset UD. In america this fight is being considered a mismatch by the yanks... Froch is a BIG outsider amongst fans.
I think people are going to be in for a shock. The difference between Pavlik and Froch is huge. Froch isn't good enough.
The best you will get on either guy is 11/10 or similar. I fancied Froch to win this one from the beginning..... probably going to leave it alone though.
I was originally very confident of Froch winning but I'm starting to lean towards Taylor. Froch is always going on about being able to work behind a jab but he never does, and I don't anticipate him doing so on Saturday, because he thinks Taylor is vulnerable to pressure. Froch will have to put on a better performance than he put on against Pascal and he'll have to show more stamina. I'm not sure whether that was just a poor night for him but he couldn't get his punches off properly and he looked incapable of sustaining pressure. I think he can do it if he relaxes and starts finding the range with the cork screw single shots, but his timing will have to be spot on. If Taylor sees the punches coming and counters all night, Froch is froched.
I think the fact that Taylor wasn't too keen on the fight suggests to me he knows he probably can't mix it with Froch. Unfortunately I think that means he fights a tactically smart fight and jabs and moves his way to a points decision. Hope I'm wrong though, Froch is becoming my fave British fighter!
Am I the only one who thinks some of these "experts" talk sh*te? Look at what a couple of them say on the article on media predictions: Chris Strait, Stick and Move w/ Chris and Chris at www.stickandmoveshow.com, (Taylor): “I think it will take Froch only a few rounds to realize he's in over his head, and he will not attempt to ruffle Jermain's feathers.’’ Like Froch is going to wuss out and go into survival mode? Scott Swerbinsky, Pound 4 Pound Apparel Internet Radio (Taylor): “I love Taylor in this one. He’s too big, strong, fast and hungry.’’ Taylor's too big, strong and hungry for Froch?
