Very Good and exciting cruiserweight that took the risk and jumped up to Heavy to try and cement a great legacy and earn more cash (what there all in the game for) but did not have the physical presence to compete with the modern day elite heavys (Klitscko)

less kindly then it regards micheal spinks, his wins at cruiserweight aren't amazing and no where nearcomparison with spinks at lhw, spinks hw run was also far better and less embarrassing

No need to put Mike Spinks and Haye in the same sentence.

If he retired without fighting again .......

As a heavyweight, he'll be remembered as a colossal hype job who knocked over some horrible has-beens and no-hopers, won a meaningless title, and was exposed when he fought the real champion.

As a cruiserweight, another world champion who showed good promise at that weight but went up the heavyweight to chase big money instead of attempting to establish a historic reign.

In a British context, he's somewhere above Audley Harrison and somewhere below Joe Bugner.

Excellent cruiser. Proved to be a solid hw. I must admit underrated his stamina and durability at hw so my estimation of haye the hw actually went up after the wlad fight. He stood up to some big shots especially later in the wlad fight. Great physical talent, lacking on fundamentals which Wlad took advantage of. He just acts like such a twat it's hard to give him credit. Standing on the table at the press conference to show his toe was just ludacris :yep

As a gambler. 20 odd fights, made loads of cash. Fought an elite fighter once and lost. Beat a load of mediocre fighters but generated interest. A celebrity. And one of the smartest boxing business brains weve ever had

    He still hasn't done much.
27 fights, and most against nobodies. His HW title was bogus.

Really, if he wants to go down as anything like a great fighter he should go back to cruiser, dominate there, and fight HW contenders in between, wait until the Klitschkos retire and have another run at HW in 3 or 4 years time.
He needs to learn to fight.

Problem is, he talked himself into such big paydays he's probably made too much money to have the hunger.
    He's not a true warrior.
