At HW which is what we are talking about now, the second best ever behind Lennox lewis.

That is an achievement. I would like to see a couple more fights from him though.

****, he lost one fight at hw (against the best opposition), he might of flip flopped but he was vertical at the end (unlike all the americans that would apparentley 'smash him up') its more than likeley he will win another title (no chance of retirement this year). if he were to bag another abc trinket, he should be rated right up there!

Frank Bruno was a better heavyweight than David Haye.

I think the press are going a bit far with the way they are lambasting Haye, you would think he put in a Harrison-esque performance the way they are attacking him. Fact is his punch stats in terms of shots landed to shots thrown were only slightly off Wlads and this is taking into account that Haye is a counter puncher matched up against someone who fights at range. He talked himself up a hell of a lot so his fall was always going to be a rough one if he didnt bring home the belts and he shouldnt have brought up the toe but as he said it was not an excuse it was an explanation, people were asking where he thought he lost the fight. End of the day he went 12 rounds with a dominating force of heavyweight boxing despite clear physical disadvantages and he got the sport on the back pages again which others have tried and failed to do...

British history will remember him very well, as we've not had too many 2 weight champs.

On an internationa level, i can't see him getting in the HOF or being too well remembered. but people will think of him as a good cruiser and Heavy, but was no where near active enough.

    you're on the wind-up, right?

Just from more recent times Bruno and probably Hide are better.

Haye will be remembered as a good but far from great cruiser. Not to be mentioned in the same sentence as the likes of Holy, Spinks, Toney, Qawi and Moorer.

Heavyweight - Haye ain't nobody. Held a belt for a while, just like a number of other average fighters have down the years.

I never fell for his bull****. Who has he beat?

Thought you ****ed off to a tennis you complete ******...? "I like Tennis, thats not what makes you a weak ******" What is you're agenda Ironside..? I see you're thread, where you confessed being a complete ****** was somewhat removed.

What do you wanna hear from people in this topic...?

David Haye singled handily brought back excitment to the heavyweight division, he could of stayed at Cruiserwieght his whole career, and fought guys his own size. But no...he took that risk and moved up. Because boxing needed a saviour and needed waking up, and bringing back to the mainstream. And thats what has happened, nobody can question that. Arm chair fans like "yourself" have been paying attention again, and buying Heavyweight fights for the first time since Tyson, Lewis, and Holyfield. He took that risk and gamble, and it didn't pay off this time against Wladimir Kiltschko, but such as life. Haye was not beaten up badly or knocked out, "And he wants a rematch". You're part of the society "Ironman" which i can't stand, thickle and shallow in some ways. "Promises are made everyday, but their broken too, but it takes a brave man in my opinion to openly make a promise to the masses like David Haye did "He said he wanted to bring all the Heavyweights belts back to Britain", leaving no room for failure, knowing what peoples reactions would be".......and he nearly delivered, he slayed the Giant 23stone Valuev "In Germany", became the WBA heavyweight Champion, for the first time in almost half a decade. "The Heavyweight title was not held by a Eastern European". He brought back good looks, charisma, and style to back to a once mainstream sport. Fighting guys who out weighed him by stones at a time, not a mere few pounds "stones". And this needs commending, David Haye has only ever wanted to WIN. "This country needs to support its real Winners, and not beat them down".

    "I'm quite clearly the best"

You guys know better then calling him a former HW champion. I know there are many title holders out there in general but you don't get a pass when you're pretending to be the HW champion of the world while there are two others clearly ranked ahead.

For all his trash talk and antics the only thing that really bothered me was him going around after the Valuev win claiming that he fulfilled his boyhood dream...gtfo.
