    I don't mean like that.

I mean in terms of will history remember that he faced the best opposition etc?

Well, if the rumors are true and they are discussing Canelo for early December/his next fight, he will have went out in less than a year and beat the two highest ranked fighters in the weight class above his own. Add in DLH and his Jr MW resume is pretty impressive.

At 147, all he needs is Pacquiao.

    It's still going. :yep

  7. He will forever be remembered for retiring when the WW division was red hot. Then ducking Pac when he was still prime. That's gonna be part of his legacy.

-Retiring when the WW division was hot: Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, Berto, Clottey, etc.

-Coming back and doing a decent run by beating Mosley (#1), Ortiz, Marquez (who arguably beat Pacquiao) and Cotto (#1 at 154, arguably past his best). Add that to his wins over Judah, Baldomir and Hatton (who was beltholder).

He lacks a win over Pacquiao.

the pac fight will forever be a sticking point, but apart from that floyd doesnt need to fight anyone else
there is always someone up and coming, but there's no-one at WW right now who i think is ready to challenge him anyway

Up to now he is already a top 45 atg by most boxing historians and analysts.

I think he'll be remembered as a top 45 atg if he retired today. Probably higher if he beats 1-3 more opponents.

I agree. Pac is the only name he lacks on his CV.

He beat Mosley, who KOed Margacheato the previous year. He beat Ortiz, who beat Berto. And well, he beat others like Baldo, Judah and Hatton. And Cotto, but at 154. Pac's name is the only that isn't in the list. Margarito is a ****in cheater and didn't deserve it; he got Koed anyway. Floyd also beat Marquez, who at that weight gave Pacman hell and arguably won.
