Good. Could have been great. He could have had some great fights post Oscar through 2008 and 2009.

It will be remembered as much by who he didnt fought as by who he fought and the time and state of the fighters he fought it will rate it as a decent run but far from a great one, his 130 pound run was much more impressive and will be rated higher.

If he fights Canelo im not sure about that

    130-135

    Hernandez
    Manfredy
    Famoso
    Chavez
    Corrales
    Goyo
    Castillo

    147-154

    Baldi
    Judah
    DLH
    Hatton
    JMM
    Mosley
    Ortiz
    Cotto
    Canelo

Its close. If he beats Canelo and becomes ring 1 at 154 considering his age i might go with this run.

    154

Oscar was ranked 1 at LMW when he fought Floyd per ESPN. I believe Ring had him up at 1 too.

as of today he would be remembered as a good fighter but not the best. If they arent able to make the pacqiaou fight then I think that will linger over his legacy for years to come.

    admit it it mayweather sweaters.

his team cherry picked a little bit, and when fighters were ripe...

i hope he gets to 45-0, i want to see more of him,

Mayweather may have cherry picked to some degree but part of it was circumstances.

It would have been nice if he was around when Tito, SMM and Oscar were in their
primes. Instead he fought two of them who were clearly over the hill, and then he fought others such as JMM and Hatton who had to come up in weight.

Baldo and Gatti were never elite fighters, and the Ortiz fight was a bit of joke. (would have been royally pissed if I had to pay to watch that fight). But he did surprise me by agreeing to fight Cotto.

He still got time to put in more work. 147 won't offer much cuz it's weak. 154 got a nice list of pretty good fighters. But realistically, what chance does any of em have to get a May fight other than Canelo? And even a Canelo win is nothin but a belt for May. They guy ain't done **** to establish himself as any kinda legacy booster.

Goldie at 154 was aight. Not a great win, but a good one that deserves a bit more props than May gets for it.

Cotto at 154 was just a good win too. May woulda beaten him in the exact same fashion at 147, but it woulda been a lot more meaningful in 08. That win was nothin special.

147? Mitchell was nothin, a tuneup.

    Zab was decent.

Baldomir was ****; I don't give a **** if he had the title. He sucks.

Hatton was good. He was a former WW titlist, so damn the size excuse.

JMM was ****; too small to count.

Mosley was good. He mighta been old but he wasn't completely shot. May overcame early difficulty to own him for 10 outta 12 rds.

Ortiz was decent. So what if he had a belt? He ain't that good.

On the whole, May's 147-154 run is ok. Not terrible, but not spectacular either. He only been a $ fighter at that weight range, not a hungry fighter anymore.

Ppl need to stop crediting Mosley with a win over Margo.

Margo entered the ring with his mind nowhere near that fight, knowing his career could be completely over, and in not mental state to fight. Cheating or not, the fight shouldn't have happened and it make Mosley look a lot better than he actually was, I am sick of people using that as a legit reason to validate Mosely for May.
