IMO the klitchko's, Lewis, Bowe, J/k Sugar Valuev should only be ranked amongst themselves as SHW's True heavyweights should be >215lbs, so most of the past heavyweights fit very easily in this category. If there was a SHW division it would be dead, instead it killed the HW division.
You live in your own little world I think, I know people here who don't even watch boxing usually that watch whenever wlad fights because believe it or not you can still be the heavyweight champ even if you're not American. People still tune in to watch the heavyweight champ no matter what country they're from. Can't work out if you're ******ed or just trolling
I will remember Wlad's Career more so than Vitali's. But people saying they fought in weak era's well so did Joe Louis Mike Tyson Larry Holmes Rocky Marciano But for some reason real fans know who those guys are.
Wlad will be remembered as a top 10 ATG Heavyweight and a gentleman outside the ring. Vitali will be remembered as Lennox's *****.
Each HW champion on an era, no matter how average, will always be remembered. Wlad will be remembered as king of the hill of the early part of this century. Other champs will come along and comparisons to Wlad and his era will be made. People who claim Wlad will be forgotten are completely ignorant of boxing history. No dominant champ has ever been 'forgotten'. The entire idea is ludicrous.
Sven Ottke dominated , went undefeated and has more claim to greatness than Wlad....Calzaghe never took big risks and is not remembered as an ATG even though he had the label when he was active....Wlad never had an elite victory to prove his worth and thats whats matter's when evaluating greatness.........He did prove he didn't have toughness or abilty of a great fighter in his 3 loses and his struggles with Sam Peter and Chris Byrd.......
One guy dominating a weak era >>>>> two guys splitting one up. There were guys who presented stylistic problems for Louis and Marciano during their reigns, but they couldn't pass them off to their brothers.
I still don't see how some of you can even compare the competition from the 80s to right now. #1 contender chris arreola
Vitali is HOF because he's one of the two brothers who held titles at the same time. They're still the only ones, Vitali doesn't have a HOF worthy career and is not an ATG but the brothers holding all the titles is a special something. Depending was Wlad does in the coming years he will retire as a top 10 ATG.
