If Kelseer wins the tournament - whats that worth to Clazaghes legacy ?

If he loses the tournament - and maybe even gets stopped or KO'd how much does than damage Calzaghes legacy ?

    :think

I personally think that Froch will upset and stop Kelseer

FAT JOE told me earlier that mutual sparring partners who had sparred with both men have suggested Froch is the likely winner

I think Froch has the power to hurt Kelseer that Calzaghe lacked

If he wins it then the Kessler win becomes a very good win for Calzaghe. Considering he's been inactive for so long it would be good for Calzaghe if he won. However this inactivity will (IMO) hinder Kesslers performances so I cannot see him winning which then makes one of Calzaghes' best wins look unimpressive really as he hasn't done anything of note since the fight and his chances of doing so another 12/14 months down the line become slim

FAT JOE needs to put down the crack, being banned has given him license to spout bull****. Darren Barker sparred with them both and said Kessler is an excellent boxer but Froch had more power. He backed Froch slightly, but then he's his ****ing stablemate he's hardly going to say anything different.

Who are these other sparring partners? Sparring my ass, I heard Froch looked **** in sparring for Taylor and what happened there...

Kessler's name is often mentioned by those who insist that Calzaghe was a great boxer. However, the truth is that on the night he showed only potential and lost by 4-5 rounds.
Pre Calzaghe Kessler has a poor CV and post-Calzaghe he has done nothing.

So yes, the Super 6 could effect Calzaghe's legacy. If Kessler ends up justifying all the hype and wins the tournement then Calzaghe as a old man beat a young future star.

However if, as I predict will happen, Kessler flops big time and only makes it to the Semi-final or worse then his name must be removed from Calzaghe's list of "great victories." This will only leave Eubank, Lacy and Hopkins and no geniune ATG legacy has ever been so weak since Marciano.

Dan, I think Kessler has a mandatory to fight before the tournament. That should help him dust off the ring rust.

Another note on sparring, Sakio Bika sparred Kessler and fought Joe and said Kessler would definitely beat Joe.

    Sparring rumours are horse****.

Froch will stop / TKO / KO - TFFP's Hero

    Mikel Kelseer

in the process - he will then lay claim to being greater than Calzaghe................

The last paragraph makes little sense. Kessler STILL has a better record than Jeff Lacy regardless of what happens in this tournament. If he made the semi-finals he'd be way ahead of Lacy.

Marciano has a very good resume, much underrated.

Looking back in hindsight obviously, it is difficult to see why Lacy was being so hyped by everybody.

On Kessler, I feel his resume is pretty fair, bearing in mind promotional issues etc. He won every second of every round against Andrade, pretty much the same against Mundine, and holds stoppage/wide points wins over decent oppo such as Beyer, Siaca etc.

All Lacy had done is KO'd a few chinny Americans and battered a shot Robin Reid - if the harsh truth be told.

Win or lose, this tournament is unlikely to be the end of Kessler's career. Kessler susbsequent success, or lack their of, will obviously effect Calzaghe's legacy in the same way it would do anyone, whose legacy was built partially on the back of what was seen at the time as a great victory, against a very good fighter.

I think Froch could beat Kessler, both a fairly immobile and one dimensional. With Kessler being the better boxer, but Froch arguabley carrying the greater power.

Anyway, I'm backing Abraham to win.

Although I might put a tenner on JT if the odds are wide and handsome.

Jimmy Lennon Jr also backs Abraham :yep

I can't see it personally, his only trump card is power and it remains to be seen how effective that is against these boys. It took him long enough to deal with the Gevor's and Ayala's of this world.

Odds for JT were 11/2 the other day to beat Abraham. I'm putting a tenner on that !

For me if Kessler and Froch fought i'd pick Froch to stop him late on, but who knows thats what makes this so exciting. I think Ward may suprise people and get to the final. Not being talked about as a candidate here which suprises me
