Its a confidence boosting, warm-up fight for a guy who's just suffered his first defeat. Its not a big deal, and I wont be paying for it on PPV.

As long as Hatton isn't too past his best or damaged by the KO loss he'll obliterate the guy in about 6 rounds. After this fight he should fight Witter, and if not Witter he should be looking at the other titlists Torres and Malinaggi. Anything less than that would be a shame.

All this Hatton Hating is growing old, he's a good lad and a fantastic ambassador for British boxing.

He has no intention of fighting Witter. Hatton will continue doing what his doing and doing it what he does best.

Wow, I feel like saying "its political correctness gone mad!" so what if he eats? I didn't say he was a role model, I said he was an excellent ambassador, because he's humble, down-to-earth and fights with his heart on his trunks. He's an exciting fighter and a great personality who everyday people can relate too and admire. He's a God in Manchester.

Nope he's a man football thugs can relate to. I actually find him rather condescending when he talks about "giving back to the people".

Look he has sold 50,ooo plus tickets in 2 days, name me the last British fighter to do that?

If as you say he only attracts football thugs, where is your proof? They are fans, so what if they are not all die hard boxing fans....man you sound like the Catholic church, like it is a special privilage to be a "true" boxing fan.

Granted this is not an elite homecoming for Hatton, but he has just fought the BEST POUND FOR POUND FIGHTER AT A HIGHER WEIGHT CLASS!!!!! And lets face it there has been worse "homecomings" e.g. Lewis v Botha springs to mind!

SO ****ing what Mayweather is not a natural welterweight.

Mayweather spent most his time at Super Featherweight.

"give me a hell yeah" :yep

perhaps that is the real reason we've seen less of the jabbing recently from rick.

but let's be honest he's always been the get close hook heavy type. even against tackie there was plenty of hooks. :bbb

They come to each, they fight close, Hatton is better, Hatton keeps chipping away enroute to a late stoppage or clean decision.

    My opinion :
His jokes are also getting very stale now. He has used the one about his dad being small etc and being father of a world champ on at least 3 different tv chat shows. Maligfaggi is being lined up for the undercard so looks like he will be Hattons next opponent after he beats Lucca Vialli (or whatever his name is).

My opinion tailored for KCD and other shills:
He is so talented, he is a jack of all trades, boxer, comedian and real nice guy all rolled into one. He is multi talented and the biggest box office draw the UK has ever seen. Even when he farts (after 20 pints and a full english) it is well funny. When he retires he can do stand up comedy. He has lost to the greatest boxer the world ahs ever seen so there is no harm in having a warm up fight to reward his millions of UK fans. He is simply doing it for the fans hence the really low ticket prices.

SO as any person with a real intellect will know Mayweather was killing himself at that weight.

Mayweather IS a natural Welterweight, he is hitting harder and has more natural strength, i think this is his perfect weight.

Forget about him fighting De la Hoya or the Big Show, he should be fighting Cotto.

And besides that the fact remainds that Hatton fought the POUND 4 POUND number 1 and lost, no shame in that, when was the last time a British fighter fought a P4P NUM1?
