How will Mayweather look vs Guerrero?

People who think this fight will be a mismatch, I'd like to make an avatar bet with you. I've got Ghost winning a minimum of 4 rounds on at least 1 scorecard. I say 4 rounds because Floyd has GBP in his pocket and, let's be honest, any close rounds (and there will be many) are going to Floyd.

Floyd's 36. He's fighting someone who has never looked lost in a fight. Someone who can box a little, can be rugged, has a good chin, has some pop, and has miles of heart. Christ Ghost has been calling Floyd out for years. This fight is the world to Ghost.

When Ghost took the Berto fight, ESB was basically unanimous in declaring Berto winner via stoppage. The fight went completely the opposite way.

I think the fight will start off fast as Ghost will do everything in his power to make Floyd uncomfortable. I also don't see Ghost falling prey to Floyd's games as easily as everyone else. Ghost will push the action and use dirty tactics if need be.

I've got a close 7-5ish decision for Floyd. And I'm a big Floyd fan.

I'm guessing Mayweather looks clearly declined, albeit a P4P force still, has a couple tough rounds, maybe loses one or two, and then gets his timing down, lays traps, and beats Guerrero up with accurate offense. I'm expecting a late stoppage or a 10-2/11-1 decision. I'd be very surprised if Mayweather has a seriously rough going against Guerrero, even with the year layoff and time locked up.

 

Early rounds are going to be very entertaining. Think going into round 7 most people cards will be somehting like 3-3. Eventually Floyd adjust and I see him winning out at that point.

 

I see something similar to this. Ghost will have his moments early. I think by round 8 Floyd will start to pull away by ad******g to negate Ghost's offense. Still. those first 6-7 rounds will be mighty interesting. I expect fireworks.

 

Floyd's age, Ghost's versatility, Ghost's chin, Ghost's conditioning. It's going to be a little bit of everything. People were saying how manny pacquiao wasn't prime when he fought Mosley. manny was like 31-32 at that point. People say DLH wasn't prime when he fought Floyd. DLH was 34 or 35 at that point. Floyd's 36 and will have been, yet again, inactive for a year by the time he gets in the ring. I know it's been incredible how he's remained so sharp, but Ghost isn't a dummy. He's not going to, initially, let Floyd control the pace. Ghost will go in their with his own gameplan and do whatever it takes to use it. Floyd is going to look vulnerable for the first half of the fight.

 

Zab Judah was a frontrunner at the time who's stamina used to always betray him after five or six rounds and from that point Floyd simply took advantage of that by walking Zab down with the jab to the body and head, his counterpunching, along with some perfect rights on top of Zab's head and body, and took him out of his game plan and actually almost had Judah down in the 10th round before he deliberately hit Mayweather below the belt and rabbit punched him insiting the meele that broke out in the ring.

And he implemented the same strategy against Corley except "Chop Chop" was able to tag and sting Floyd early on because Floyd was just moving up from 135 to 140 when he fought him, but in the end Floyd walked down Corley, knocked him down late in the fight and went on to secure the convincing unanimous decision.

 

Floyd is pretty past it physically, but he's smarter than ever and is still on top of the competition

 

I didn't say he outsmarted them, I said he walked them down meaning little by little he broke them down both psychologically(game plan wise) and eventually physically, taking them both out of their natural element and rythym.

And to answer your last question do I see Guerrero breaking down mentally/psychologically(game plan wise) as early on as those two did. No, because he's physically bigger than those two were. But whether it goes the distance or not he's eventually going to. A fighter can still look good while he's making adjustments in figuring out his opponents style while that same opponent is looking good himself by implementing his own gameplan early on and obviously taking a small edge in the process. That's why Floyd is good at making adjustments during fights by figuring out his opponent and not taking a lot, if not any, major punishment in the process. On the whole besides predicting a very sharp and solid performance by Mayweather I'm anticipating a good fight while it lasts, distance or knockout!
