It's only one fight and roach's other fighters are doing well. Garcia is also training a few fighters and they seem to be doing well too. Maybe he has a good chance. donnaire though in his last fight wasnt amazing like pac, JCC won, rios has a title and we have to see how margarito and khan do. Depending on those performances either could take it.

My uncle Roger & Sr. are still the best trainers.

I did linares started well until he was cut. Then demarco with good timing was able to take advantage and deal with him.

It already seems to have shaken up Team Pac. Well, at least I hope so, anyway. If the Cotto and Mosley fights weren't enough evidence, then surely the JMM one will have made Pac and Roach realize their serious inability to cut off the ring effectively against a fighter who retreats and circles away from that left hand. If they don't rectify this, then they'll have problems with every fighter who's out to exploit this weakness.

As for Roach's chances of winning trainer of the year, yes, they've been hampered by that performance. Rightfully so, in my opinion. Unless Khan has a spectacular night in December.

one of his main fighters was KOed in a fight he was well in front on the score cards. I think that Garcia team has a better year

Roach is still a great coach by all means. He admitted underestimating Marquez and even tho his fighter got a gift decision at least Roach recognizes facts. It would be worse if Roach wouldn't be honest like alot of trainers. Linares was doing great actually, but hadnt been in that situation before. Maybe if he clinched abit more he might of escaped with a decision. Khan did very good. I dont think Roach did bad, but not the best year. If he comes up with a masterplan to beat Marquez decisively and Manny follow it without getting frustrated yoou bet he will get the award.

It all hinges on how great Khan looks against Peterson now, I think.
