How will people feel if Calzaghe loses and Pavlik wins?

    Scrap age, it has nothing to do with boxing comparisons, prime has no direct relationship with age, it is different for every fighter.

    Whilst Roy looked like he could have gotten Trinidad out of there at anytime, this is a blown up, post-inactivity Trinidad we are talking about.

    Roy was throwing singular shots, and lacked movement. Workrate is obviously going to be the basis of Joe vs Roy and probably Pav vs Hops too.

    Roy has A chance, be it a poor one. If Hops can put Joe down so can Roy, be it a flash knockdown or not, it is a 10-8 round and that is going to help a points lead greatly.

    It is possible, just not probable, especially going by his workrate against Tito. But the difficult thing about this is he didn't really appear to be taking things that seriously.

    My only hope is that Joe's high work rate forces Roys up, as we know he can counter punch with the best of them.

    [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Pavlik's take:

    "I want Calzaghe to win, I really do. I just want to fight him. Actually, I want to fight his dad first," he clarifies. But of course, he may have to get in line behind his own trainer, Jack Loew. "His dad is doing everything possible to not have that fight happen. But with Calzaghe and Jones nothing is impossible in that fight. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Roy Jones outpointed him. I'm being dead serious in that. I would not be a bit surprised. I'm hoping Calzaghe wins and I think he could win, but at the same time, if Calzaghe had a little bit of power with his pressure, then I'd say, 'Y'know what, Jones might end up like he did with Glen Johnson and Tarver,' but I just don't think Calzaghe has enough to really do that to Roy. I think Roy Jones might possibly drop Calzaghe in that fight."

    Didn't Calzaghe say he is retiring after Jones?

    Sorry to clutter up a thread with a non-boxing point Snatch, but I have only recently powered through seasons 1 and 2 of The Wire, and I think it's the best show I've ever seen!! On season 3 now. :good

    I would love a Jones win mate, I really really would, but I just know our hopes will be crushed, so I'm going in there with no expectations on purpose to minize disappointment.

    Your hopes have been dashed many times where Calzaghe is concerned. 45 times :hi:

    You haven't learned that you can't trust what JC says yet? :rofl Though I do think he is serious about this one. It is the ONLY way he can avoid a fight with Pavlik.
