ah I see, but lying to yourself by saying Jones has no chance is abit overboard no?

I mean my hopes with regard to Jones winning not Calzaghe losing, I am a Jones fan, I don't hate Calzaghe, I only hate his fanboys. I wish you could've seen my house for the Lacy and Kessler fights. I was willing Calzaghe to win, and thought he was brilliant both nights. My mates are all big Calzaghe fans (we're British btw), the place was pandemonium! I hate his decision to fight Jones, I think he is spectacularly overrated, but I have always admired his talent.

    Not disputing it...

Still, a fighter should be able to quit at this sort of age without people questioning it. People just want him to go and on until he loses, thats the top and bottom of it.

Sadly, I don't think he has a realistic chance. If Tarver and Johnson sparked him 4 years ago and he has had 4 years to age and decline since, I cannot see how a better fighter than those two won't beat him now, I honestly can't.

Nope, we want him to fight one top 10 p4p guy that isn't over-the-hill. One 50/50 superfight against a world-renowned fighter. Just one. Even one would improve that ghastly resume immensely, and then it would come a little closer to the potential he never fulfilled.

As a Clazaghe fan I would be gutted...however RJJ is also one of my all time favs, so if he had to loose to someone it might as well be RJJ!

I'm not too bothered who wins between Pavlik and B'Hop, I'm a fan of both fighters. I suppose win for Pavlik might set up a fight with Calzaghe...who knows?

Who's that gonna be when Hopkins makes Pavlik look a clown?

That's a strange pick for favourite. I'm a Frank Sobotka man myself.

Calzaghe is a fair ways past his prime. He's lost a good deal of his speed and agility, and that's what he's relied on -as well as ring savvy- to outpoint opponents while avoiding getting hit. He's not nearly the fighter he was when he fought Lacy. Anything could happen in the fight with Jones.
Hopkins is going to make Pavlik's life miserable. It's going to be a sloppy mess of a hugfest, with Pavlik getting countered and frustrated by Hopkins' tactics. Ultimately, Pavlik should outpoint Hopkins in a dreadful excuse for a boxing match. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins quit on his stool, rather than risk getting ktfo.

Hopkins will make Pavlik look a clown for a while, but his lack of stamina isn't going to go away. Pavlik will take control by the mid-late rounds, and beat B-Hop more convincingly than Calzaghe managed.

I didn't like season 2 as much as season 1. Ziggy Sobotka was a waste of semen, and a waste of ink on the script.
