Tom Stalker, Fred Evans and Andrew Selby are through to the european finals, it will be interesting to see how Team GB approach selection for the world championships at these weights:

    52 - Yafai vs Selby
    64 - Saunders vs Stalker
    69 - Cardle vs Evans

i'm sure before going in to the tournament the first boxers I mentioned would have been favourite to go to the worlds. now however what with the other 3 through to the finals the selectors can't ignore them. The only way to solve it would be a box off surely?

Is it possible to view this afternoons fights anywhere??

Yafai for me has to go, he is a talented boxer who I'd favour to medal. It would have to be a move up for Selby for me for him to get in. However, I'd pick Stalker over Saunders to be honest. Stalker always seems to turn up at the big events and has to be a favourite for gold whilst there's something about Saunders I'm not sure about.

Not sure about the other 2 I must admit.

Yeah Yafai is the like the poster boy for Team GB and has been number 1 at the weight for ages. At the current euros however he got comfortably beaten in the first round and selby has sailed through to the finals. If he wins gold the selectors can't ignore that surely? not sure what you mean by a "move up for selby?" they are at the same weight

I think box offs would be good, there are a few weights where their are two or more boxers vying for a place so why not settle it old school and fight for their place, a big pressure fight can only do good for confidence to the winner going into the tournament.

Not sure if any will qualify but at 91kg you have Danny Price, Simon Vallily and ****** Baister who are all very equally matched imo and it would be good to see them fight for a place

Stalker cause he is consistent an in second euro final has that ever been done by a Brit, yafai an selby can both go who gets the furthest goes if both get same round an qualify then box off plus ste simians Scottish Danny price eng
And went last worlds together so it's allowed every other weight shud be box offs IMO top 4

If you medal in the Europeans I'd think you are the automatic favorite for the worlds! I think the team virtually picks it's self bar about 2 weights maybe 3 maximum! They are a fantastic team too!

if the gb doesn't take one to the worlds i'm sure there own country can. maybe not in the case of stalker and saunders because they both english but evans and selby could go with wales if they not selected by team gb. i have been at tournaments where this happens.

sorry guys I thought the world championships was like the olympics where it is "Team GB" event. Hell of a competition for Selby and Evans mind, I saw the Evans fight today and he has it all - power, speed and great movement. fair play welsh boxing is looking up :)
